  Charming old building in the historic center

  Liked: The location was great -- easy walking to sites in the old city center. The hotel had a charming courtyard where they served breakfast every morning.

  Disliked: This is lack of planning on my part, but the parking is not near the hotel and there isn't a curb-side drop off point -- the hotel is fully within the pedestrian-only part of the city. Getting our big bags up and down the cobblestone streets and steps wasn't easy. The location works better if you're traveling light.

  Mixed feelings

  Liked: The hotel’s location is very convenient, just a short walk from the city centre, while still being in a quiet area. We also appreciated the possibility of using a nearby partner car park and the affordable price, especially compared with other hotels in the area. A special mention goes to Melissa at reception, who was extremely kind and helpful. She helped us choose a place to eat and even made the restaurant reservation for us. This was definitely the best part of our stay.

  Disliked: The room is not very modern: the furniture is rather old-fashioned and the overall decor is quite minimalist. The bathroom is also small and a little uncomfortable. During our stay, the bathroom door handle came loose and I had to put it back myself. In addition, some of the lights in the room were not working. However, after informing reception, the problem was fixed quickly.

  Sarlat was lovely but the accommodation was poor

  Disliked: Room too small. Bathroom too small. Needs complete deep clean and redecorating plus new carpets.
