Liked: Very big and clean apartment located in a very quiet area, but close to a very nice beach and restaurants. The apartment was perfectly equipped for a family stay and had all we needed for 1 week stay with our children. The owner lives in the same building on another floor and answered all questions during our entire stay. There is a small garden available for guests and I also saw a small swimming pool which I guess is available during the season. We arrived late in the night and we found in the kitchen some pasta, Sicilian tomato sauce and a bottle of wine which we much appreciated:)
Disliked: The toilet was making some weird noises and the pressure of the water under the shower was low but it didn’t really impact our holidays, it was great anyway!
Fantastic "feel like at home" stay
Liked: We had a wonderful time in Avola. Mariella is a perfect host. She was very responsive and provided us with a lot of information about the city and its surroundings. We really felt like at home. We were surprised at how well equipped the apartmant was. You can find some beautiful furniture from the past inside and on the staircase. The apartment is very spacious and even more than enough for 4 persons which makes it a great deal. It was perfectly clean compared to our other apartments in Sicily. The location is close to a lovely beach called Pantanello. There are big supermarkets nearby, good restaurants in Marina di Avola but I highly recommend food trucks with panini which attract a lot of locals in the evenings. Avola is very close to Noto and Siracusa. It is 1 hour drive from Catania airport.
