Exceptional
Andrea was a really friendly and helpful host. We had an enjoyable evening with him in the garden having a social drink
Liked: The property was quiet and well situated for the supermarkets and Cortona. A drive was about 15 minutes and parking was tricky close to Cortona. There is a car park outside and about 10 minutes walk. The walk up to Cortona is lovely, but steep, so if you are unfit forget it.
Disliked: The Mosquitos, but that is everywhere and specific to the property
Relaxing stay in a lovely house
Liked: Beautifully Restored Tuscan property. Fully equipped, comfortable beds. The cleanest property I have ever stayed in. Responsive, friendly owners. A lovely welcome pack. Dog friendly. Superb small garden with comfortable outdoor furniture. Safe car parking. It was peaceful and secure. A good location for touring Tuscany towns and villages. Large supermarket within 5 minutes walk also excellent fish restaurant 5 minutes away.
Disliked: Nothing at all. I think you need a car to make the most of the area. Cortona is walkable but a steep walk.
The perfect place to stay for a wonderful trip to Tuscany
Liked: We stayed for 9 nights in Sept 2022. It was the perfect place to stay as our home base, for our tour of Tuscany. Sonia's lovely house is in the town of Camucia,on a pretty hillside in a residential area. The train station is 1 km away so it was an easy trip to Florence by train and there is a mini bus up the hill to Cortona every hour. In Camucia, Il fico di Cortona, is a short walk to a lovely restaurant and a grocery store is within 1 km. It is a quick drive to Camucia's town center with other restaurants and shops and easy access to highways. The house is very clean and well supplied with everything. The air conditioning, WiFi and TV were great and there is a dishwasher, washer, iron and hair dryer too. This lovely 2 bedroom house has a wonderful little kitchen and a big bathroom with a big shower and separate bathtub. There is a patio to sit outside and a BBQ. We had easy parking for our car next to the house on a quiet street. Sonia is a wonderful host and was always available if we needed anything. Sonia speaks very good English too. We loved our stay and would highly recommend Il Fico di Cortona to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Tuscany.
Disliked: We loved everything, but anyone with mobility issues should know that the stairs up to the washroom and one of the bedrooms are relatively steep.
Well located for sightseeing in Tuscany or just relax at the house and garden
Liked: Beautiful stone building, lovingly restored but with all modern comforts, a charming place to stay. Our host Sonia had thought of everything. It was a joy to relax in the garden surrounded by fig and olive trees. Wonderful!
Disliked: Everything was perfect a big thank you to Sonia for being so welcoming.
