Exceptional
A hidden gem in an idyllic setting
Liked: We stayed for 4 nights in June as part of an extended European train trip and we absolutely loved this property! Set in a pretty garden with idyllic views over the bay, the small guesthouse has a rustic charm and a tranquil, relaxed vibe. The staff were incredibly welcoming. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful and served in the garden. Our room on the ground floor was spacious, clean and well equipped, with a patio door opening directly onto the garden. The train station is 5 mins walk and the village centre around 15 mins up a steep hill. Corniglia village has a good selection of restaurants and bars, many with spectacular clifftop sea views. It's perfect for those wanting to explore Cinque Terre by day but who prefer quiet evenings, a slower pace and exquisite sunsets!
Liked: In whole cinque Terre this definitely is best location. Close to train station and avoid of stairs to the village at the top of the mountain. Cornigila is the quiest of them all and on the middle so very convenient location. The owners are kind helpful and make you feel like you are arriving into family countryside. We were leaving with nostalgia. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
Liked: Lovely people, a great breakfast with a good view of the sea. The room was a good size with a nice en suite.
Disliked: The walls were very thin. We could hear conversations going on and phones pinging in the next door room, so quite noisy (we probably disturbed them too!) Wifi was unreliable.

Disliked: The room is fairly small and the bathroom in particular quite cramped and awkward to move around in. We had a miscommunication about the tourist tax, which I forgot to pay before leaving and had to find a way to pay afterward from a distance; the need to pay the tax was clearly outlined by booking.com, so the issue was my fault, but the host didn’t mention it when we checked in and the breakfast / cleaning staff didn’t ask for it the morning we left, even though we saw them several times. The host got quite annoyed with us, even though he played some part in the misunderstanding, and this left a bit of a bad note for an otherwise excellent visit to Cinque Terre.
