  If not for the construction work outside, everything would have been fine

  Liked: I have mixed feelings about staying here. First of all, the central location of the apartment was why we chose it, and that was indeed a great advantage. There's a supermarket very close to the house, there are several bus stops (to Capo di Milazzo, to the train station), the beach and the castle is also just a short walk away, and it's basically located in one of the main streets of Milazzo. We loved that the kitchen is well-equipped, we could make coffee every morning and we cooked dinner there twice during our stay. The furniture in the apartment is basically brand new, everything inside looks freshly renovated and it would have been quite nice, if not for a few inconveniences we encountered during our stay. (P.S. The neighbour is a hairdresser, he's a very nice person, he even gave us his card if we would need haircuts during our vacation:)) )

  Disliked: First of all, the apartment is on the ground floor of an old building, so, as it can be expected, the air is rather damp, it smells of mould in there. Nothing that can't be countered with regularly airing out the place, but as it's not continuously inhabited, the smell is quite strong - whenever we could, we kept the door and the back door open. Secondly: the entire floor above the place is currently being renovated. No big deal, we thought, we won't be home for most of the day, and in the morning we would wake up early anyway. However, on the second day of our staying there, they put up scaffoldings on the street, directly in front of our door, so we almost couldn't get out of and into the apartment - luckily with my broken Italian and with the help of the neighbour, the haidresser guy, we could explain to the workers that this was our front door that we plan to use every day... And the noise, the shouting got worse and worse with every morning, and the construction workers told us that we can't keep the back door open because they'll keep throwing debris to the ground floor there... In the defense of our host, they said that the renovation works were supposed to start in the autumn, and that this was unexpected and out of their control. However, I suppose they could have at least warned us when we got there so we know what to expect or we would have had a chance to book another place... A bit unethical if you ask me, I don't believe that the scaffoldings came as a complete surprise to them as well... But I'm pretty sure the apartment will be great once the renovation work outside is done.
