  Cute place in charming location, offered at a fair price. Just be aware of the tradeoffs

  Liked: Charming, well-designed space on quiet alleyway restricted to foot traffic. Tall ceilings. Good light from above in combo kitchen-living room. Host responsive to needs, such as providing knives for kitchen and adapters to render outlets functional.

  Disliked: Parking challenging--average walk three blocks uphill. Electric outlets do not accept European plugs and require specialized Italian adapter. Washing machine capacity limited to one day of clothes for one person. Refrigerator very noisy. Water tank refill noise behind bedroom wall disturbs sleep every morning from 7:00 to 7:30 AM. No windows to look out of, despite excellent location in upper Modica overlooking entire valley.

  The host Federica was super sweet and responsive to any concernswe had. The apartment was very cozy and comfortable

  Liked: Property was very comfortable and so cute. Well decorated and comfortable bed and pillows. Had everything you needed. Good location (if you don’t mind doing steps)

  Disliked: It has an AC unit in the bedroom which keeps in cool enough to sleep. However it’s not powerful enough to cool off the living room/kitchen area. It was September so it was manageable but I would imagine in July/August it would be pretty hot.

  Liked: The apartment is very nicely decorated with a lot of good taste. The location is also very good and Frederica was great! We received a very warm welcome and a very detailed information on what to do around Modica!

  Liked: I liked the overall design of the house. It was very clean and the bathroom was very nice. The host Federica was also very kind and helpful to us. It’s probably a nice place to stay in summer when the apartment is not as humid.

  Disliked: The apartment has a big air conditioner (with no external unit, meaning the external unit is actually inside the house itself) which was extremely loud. It also turned out to be impossible to shut it off which made sleeping difficult for the children who slept in the living-room. The bed sofa in the living room was very uncomfortable with no mattress at all, basically sleeping right on the springs of the sofa.
