  Basic accommodation

  Liked: Friendly ladies in reception. Room was very clean.

  Disliked: Rooms very basic. Bed was quite uncomfortable. A kettle in the room would have been useful. Breakfast very basic.

  Italian Masseria Dream!

  Liked: We had a wonderful stay at Masseria Asciano. Nestled among centuries-old olive groves and vineyards, the setting is absolutely beautiful, with stunning grounds that perfectly capture the charm of Puglia. We especially loved the animals roaming around the property, and the pool area was simply gorgeous. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The masseria is ideally located, just a five-minute drive from Ostuni and within easy reach of several beautiful seaside towns, making it a great base for exploring the region. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and the staff were eager to share fantastic local recommendations for dinner. One of the highlights of our stay was bringing home some of the masseria's own olive oil, produced on-site. Such an authentic touch. We also highly recommend L'Orto Gastronomico, a wonderful restaurant located nearby. Although the menu is entirely vegetarian, the food was exceptional. The ingredients are locally grown and transformed into dishes full of flavour, creativity, and that unmistakable Italian passion for great food. The rooms are rustic, traditional, and full of character, offering an authentic Italian countryside experience while still feeling incredibly comfortable and homely. What truly made the stay unforgettable, however, were the friendly animals that would often accompany us on the walk back to our room. We would wholeheartedly recommend Masseria Asciano to anyone visiting Puglia. From the beautiful surroundings and warm hospitality to the authentic local experiences, it was a truly memorable stay.

  The owners and staff were fabulous and the dogs were a treat!

  Liked: Beautiful gardens and the pool was a welcome delight on our arrival back at the end of the day!! Wonderful location and an easy quick drive to the beach for a dip in the ocean! Dinner options on the coast close by! Ostuni is a must and has a cracking view!

  Very relaxing and homely with plenty of cats and dogs about. But the worst beds I’ve ever slept in

  Liked: Location and staff very nice. Very relaxing and gardens and pool were well kept. The little vegetarian restaurant on the farm was also delightful. Although we arrived and were not informed about the menu or prices. The food just arrived. We did not know how the restaurant operated. You pay a set price and they bring out the food. It would have been nice to know this in advance.

  Disliked: Beds unbelievably uncomfortable and the same for the 1pillow. Balcony was very open with neighbours and only separated by a few vases. We both couldn’t use the balcony at the same time. Also seats very uncomfortable and given that it’s on an olive grove it was lacking views.

  Beautiful Property, Disappointing Stay

  Liked: The best thing about this property is its beautiful setting. Being surrounded by olive trees creates a very peaceful atmosphere, and the gardens are truly stunning. The flowers, landscaping, and decoration of the common areas are lovely and clearly designed with great taste. The location is also very convenient, just a 5–10 minute drive from Ostuni, making it a good base for exploring the area

  Disliked: Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing. The hotel advertises a swimming pool, but during our three-night stay it was never really usable. On the first day it was empty. On the second day it had been filled, but we were told that chemicals had just been added and it could not be used. By the third day, the water was already looking dirty because the circulation system was not running properly. The rooms were very basic and lacked attention to detail. The bed was particularly uncomfortable, consisting of two single beds pushed together, and the mattresses were extremely firm. Another issue was the lack of service. During our entire stay, we barely saw any staff members and there was very little interaction or support available. Breakfast was also disappointing. The selection was very limited, and there were not even basic hot options such as eggs. After I specifically asked, I was given two boiled eggs, but this should not have required a special request. Overall, while the gardens and location are beautiful, the accommodation, service, and facilities did not meet our expectations. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel.
