  Stunning Apartment and Views but you won't Sleep!

  Liked: This accommodation has the potential to be a ten Star. The location and view are stunning. The vaulted sandstone ceiling, white washed walls and amazing rooftop are picture perfect. Kitchen was sufficient for basic cooking. However what hides behind the amazing 'look and location' are some real fundamental and management issues. We loved our stay but it wasn't restful, we left sleep deprived and exhausted... It's a property for young party goers that like to stay up all night!

  Disliked: The linens and towels were thread bare.... not Lux at all. The toiletries were basic, equivalent to a 2 star hotel. No soap dish in the Master Ensuite shower, the 'coin-sized soap' had to be put on the floor...eek! Air conditioning doesn't work effectively in the Master Bedroom. There are 11 bins at the property -you're harassed by text around 9pm every night about putting the bins out - it's like being nagged by my mother! TIP for host: Remove the 3 bins under the sink and put the organico and mixed waste bin there. Then there's only 8 bins in total to worry about and reduces the bins in the staircase impeding the passage to the rooftop. Issue is NOT with recycling -its with the way it is managed. Provide the guidelines and leave people alone. The rooftop was dirty which was cleaned two days after we arrived but still not great. It's a far stretch calling the pool a roof-top pool, more like an oversized bathtub - Keep the cover on or the pidgeons will poo in it! Use the rooftop shower its far more refreshing! But the BIGGEST issue which is difficult to fix is the noise... it is EXTREME! You will not sleep until after 2am - the noise is crowd chatter and screaming/yelling from youths in the square and alley ways, it would be easier to cope if the noise was music, at least that would be enjoyable! You will be woken up around 6am (sometimes earlier) from the sound of broken glass from garbage collectors and cleaners. All garbage is brought to the square, dumped metres from the bedroom windows which takes hours - you will sleep again after 8-9am. The indoor seating is disjointed, the 2 occasional chairs on the landing are not practical. Suggestion- put the 2 single occasional chairs in the main bedroom facing the door, at least they can be used to watch TV or read with a view of the square. Move the double settee to the landing. Kitchen chairs are uncomfortable to watch TV.

  Very good but we sleep easily so could overcome the noise

  Liked: Fantastic property, great space and roof terrace is super. Nicely decorated and very central to everything. AC worked very well and we asked for fans too which were delivered.

  Disliked: If you are a light sleeper it’s likely to be too noisy here, it’s the glass collection pretty much every morning early hours for the restaurants which will wake you. Clearly in the centre of town too so lots of people noise as well. If they could make it more soundproof this place would be 10/10.

  Great spot, terrible management

  Liked: The fit out and the property is gorgeous. The is certainly nothing short of spectacular. The rooms are beautiful and, given you're in the dead centre of town, the soundproofing is pretty good.

  Disliked: The management of the booking by WePuglia, on the other hand, isn't great. 1. We were given the wrong address: Largo Gelso, so all of the planning on how to get to the property and parking our car, was wrong. We waited in the sun, at the address that was linked to the booking. It was a major pain, especially with a newborn. The host gaslit us, making it out as if it was our fault, when I showed him the address from the booking and the link he acknowledged it was incorrect but then proceeded to tell us that we should have known otherwise. 2. Sick feeling we were ripped off. We were given a second contract when we arrived, which had different terms from when we booked. There was no acknowledgement of the payment we had already made.l. I pointed this out but essentially was told I needed to sign it. Then we were given an invoice that didn't add up with €400 unaccounted for. 3. The constant texting from the management company was absurd, including at 21.30. I had to ask them to stop. Once we were in the property we were sent a bunch of marketing for local tours, including a twenty one page brochure. There were texts were about the rubbish (none of which applied to us because we were there on a weekend) and demands for check out times. It was too much and felt like harassment. 4. Though the fit out is great, the towels, sheets and soaps etc were crappy and cheap. One of the beds had a cheap plastic mattress protector that sounded like and felt like sleeping in a plastic bag. Given the property is quite luxurious, it was disappointing. 5. House rules were inconsistent. We had a baby with us but we were told, after we booked, that no children were allowed. Then when we got into the property the other rules (attached to a door) mentioned children. There were 3 totally different versions of house rules.

  Loved Polignano, apartment was lovely, roof terrace very welcome

  Liked: Great 3 storey apartment right in the middle of Polignano a Mare. Lovely old building with all the old features, stone stairs, wonderful high ceilings. Roof terrace has a lovely small plunge pool that is very welcome to sit in when it gets too hot. There is plenty of sitting area on the terrace with wonderful views out to sea and the surrounding areas. There are 2 comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms with good showers. The kitchen is well equipped with an extra toilet next door.

  Disliked: The only downside to being so central is the noise which can go on quite late into the night [just stay up and enjoy it] and also the noise starts quite early with all the rubbish collections, including daily bottle collections from the surrounding restaurants. The roof terrace would also benefit from some extra shade area, ie an umbrella or 2 as come 2pm there wasn't any shade. Also, we didn't know that you couldn't drive to the apartment due to historical nature of the area, we weren't told this and this added to quite a bit of stress at meeting with the rep as we just didn't know, would've have been nice to be informed so we were aware.
