Exceptional
Nice views, but property's upkeep fell way short of expectations
Liked: The location is absolutely fantastic.
Disliked: 1 Star – $1,400 a Night for an Absolutely Dreadful Experience! This was supposed to be the most elegant and luxurious part of our trip. At $1,400 per night, we expected an exceptional experience. Instead, it was an absolute disaster. The entire property reeked of sewage, especially the bathrooms. Apparently, heavy rainfall had overwhelmed the drainage system, something the cleaning lady acknowledged was a known, recurring issue. We were forced to endure the unbearable stench throughout all nights. How does a luxury property continue hosting guests without addressing or disclosing such a serious problem? To make matters worse, there was no hot water on our first day. Only after complaining did someone arrive the following morning to replace the propane tanks. Basic amenities should not require guest intervention, especially at this price! The host conveniently failed to mention he would be absent, leaving everything to a cleaning lady and his father, who spoke no English. While the language barrier is understandable, having no effective way to communicate or resolve issues is a complete management failure. I was on WhatsApp communicating back and forth with the host majority of the time first 2 days instead of enjoying a relaxed vacation. Our arrival was equally disastrous. The host's father was extremely rude to our driver and refused to allow our vehicle near the designated elevator access, forcing us to drag heavy luggage down an uneven cobblestone path. Several expensive suitcases suffered permanent wheel damage as a result. He forced the driver to backup on a rain soaked super sloped cobblestone driveway and unfortunately he lost control and backed into a wall and suffered broken taillight and bumper. At $1,400 per night, recurring sewage problems, no hot water, absent and rude management, and damaged luggage are simply inexcusable. We expected this property to be the highlight of our trip. Instead, it became one of our biggest regrets.
Liked: We absolutely loved our stay! The host was very kind and helpful throughout our visit. The house was beautiful, with an amazing view and a fantastic balcony. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery without even leaving the house. We also felt very safe and comfortable during our stay. Highly recommend
Liked: The views were fantastic. The staff was great ànd Davide was amazing and his suggestions were excellent. An excellent place to stay and great staff
Disliked: Only thing is the towels stay at bit humid. And walking at night a bit dangerous
Liked: Wonderful view from a comfortable and upscale 4 bedroom villa!
The owner was responsive and incredibly helpful. Davide (the concierge i guess) was so amazing, the home was clean, comf
Liked: It was spotless, it had tons of things for cooking, it was very private we hardly saw anyone, it had the most magnificent view, the balconies vere fantastic with the most beautiful views of the Amalfi coast. Having Davide (sort of like your own private concierge) there to give us ideas of where to go and what to see was amazing. Davide was there whenever we needed him for literally ANYTHING from a drive into town to teaching us how the stovetop worked. He was honestly the best part of the entire stay, which is saying something since the home was AMAZING!!! I felt this way even before he literally saved my daughter's life when she accidentally tripped out of the car and fell into oncoming traffic and he instinctively swept her up right as an oncoming car came and almost killed her. Davide is EVERYTHING! The elevator was great. This is the best home vacation rental experience we've ever had anywhere in the world.
Disliked: Honestly nothing. The only thing that would have made the property better would have been access to a pool, but I guess you can't have it all. And I wouldn't change it based on that. There is access to the beaches so it doesn't matter.
Charming Villa with Breathtaking Views, but Reaching Town Takes Planning or Energy
Liked: The view from the villa was absolutely outstanding, breathtaking from both the first and second-floor terraces. The house itself was charming, clean, and well laid out for a family of six, with comfortable living spaces inside and outside. The hosts were truly wonderful; communication with Davide, the manager, was excellent, and he was always available to answer questions and share great tips about restaurants and activities. The shuttle service they provide was a real highlight and definitely a must in Positano.
Disliked: The villa sits high on the cliff, so getting in and out requires planning. From the villa to the main road there are quite a few stairs, followed by a walk down to town with hundreds more. The climb back up can be challenging for older guests/ less active. Outside of the shuttle service, transportation was difficult to arrange. We also had some unresolved water pressure issues in the showers during our stay.
