Fantastic apartment in sadly underrated part of The Bay of Naples

Liked: This is our second stay in this apartment and we have longed back since we first set foot in it! First it must be pointed out that the Pozzuoli/Baia bay is sadly unknown, smack full of history (Caligula built his bridge of ships here, for example) and the regional trains makes Naples, and even Pompeii, within easy reach. Local buses (a bus stop just outside the flat by the entrance to the Arena di Nerone (the fourth largest arena of the Roman world, just outside the flat) takes about fifteen minutes to Baia where you can snorkle over submerged Roman villas or take a soak in the Stufe di Nerone, baths that have been around since (at least) the time of Julius Caesar and Cicero (known to have been quests there). The flat is wonderfully designed and very well-equipped. The hostess, Gabriella (whom we met in person in 2022,) is wonderfully enthusiastic and responsive (we asked for a little more coffee and had it within hours, for example). The balcony is a world-beater and every night we hurried home so as not to miss the sunset! The amphitheatre (the fourth largest in the Roman world) is literally a stone’s throw (don’t throw stones) away and the only thing we can complain about is the road below the balcony is trafficked almost 24/7, but this does not carry into the bedroom. It takes about ten minutes to walk down to downtown Pozzuoli but we had all our dinners on the balcony, which is highly recommended! Air conditioning works perfectly and water temperature and pressure is OK (but beware of levels in the bathroom; we put out toilet paper rolls so as to remind ourselves about it). The flat is on the top floor (70 steps) without elevator. Just so you know. We already are returning customers and might be this again! Highly recommended!

Disliked: Trafficked road just below the balcony.

    Very good

Liked: Great location. The beach, shops, restaurants, train, metro are all nearby. Large terrace with a beautiful view.

Disliked: The bathroom could use a little more care, replacement or repair of some parts / shower, board on the toilet

It was a great apartment with everything you could need. Lovely having dinner on the terrace. Would only stay again if t

Liked: Wonderful spacious apartment with an incredible view.

Disliked: The bed wasn’t to my liking. It was flat like cardboard and didn’t accomodate my body. Desperately needs a mattress topper. On the top floor with 6 flights of stairs. No lift. Pretty tough with luggage.
