5☆☆☆☆☆ Stay at AC Gold B&B
Liked: • An extremely warm welcome from Antonio, the host. • A beautiful junior suite overlooking the Villa Comunale. • Incredibly quiet despite being right in the city centre. • Long balcony with outdoor furniture. • Spotlessly clean, with lovely touches such as perfume samples, shampoo, shower gel and soap. • First-rate bed linen in beautiful cotton. • More like a boutique independent hotel than a B&B. In England, this quality of accommodation would cost three times as much. • A lovely communal area stocked with snacks and breakfast items, including cereal, croissants, jams, milk and yoghurts. • A voucher for coffee and a croissant at the bar downstairs, where the staff are hilarious, friendly and chatty. Reggio Calabria... I wasn't expecting much, as I knew little about Reggio Calabria, but I absolutely loved it. Compared with crazy cities such as Catania and Palermo, it feels laid-back, friendly and clean. Loved walking along the Lungomare, with beautiful views across the Strait of Messina to Eastern Sicily, with glimpses of Etna. Loved the Palazzo della Cultura, which is free to visit and houses some incredible modern art, including paintings by Dalí and Picasso. The National Archaeological Museum was another essential stop, with some of the best displays and video commentaries I have experienced in a museum. Thank you, Antonio, for such a wonderful stay. This is undoubtedly one of the best guest houses I have stayed in in Italy. Highly recommended.
Disliked: Leaving:(
Perfect in every way!
Liked: Location was great. Easy access to shopping, great restaurants and the train station. The room was 5 stars! Absolutely stunning. Beautifully decorated. Great balcony to sit and read. Antonio was friendly and gave great recommendations for local restaurants (one of which I tried and it was suburb for seafood!). Breakfast voucher was great. An authentic espresso and cornetto at the nearby bar, alongside the locals:) I will definitely stay here again!
Disliked: Absolutely nothing.
The room was very comfortable with modern conveniences. The people we talked to in person were nice
Liked: The breakfast wasn't as expected. It was inconvenient to have a voucher to go somewhere else first thing in the morning to pick up food.
Disliked: Being expected to correspond on the "What's up" ap, when we had already confirmed our stay on booking, seemed unnecessary.
Lovely accommodation in a terrific location
Liked: Excellent accommodation in a first class location. The accommodation was beautifully presented. Lots of drinks and snacks available for no extra charge. Very easy to find street parking. Vouchers provided for breakfast at two nearby Cafes.
Disliked: The Breakfasts were very disappointing. They offered us a cornetto and a coffee.
Liked: Thanks so much for making your accommodations available for us! Overall, we enjoyed our time there very much! And the room was all we could have hoped for!
Disliked: The breakfast was not what we expected, and the coffee pot didn't work. But other than that, everything was fine!
Very pleasant and comfortable
