Exceptional
Guido helped me plan my daily excursions to the Amalfi coast, Pompeii etc making it the perfect stay
Liked: Breakfast was fresh from the bakery every morning, collected personally by the proprietor Guido. Location was excellent just off the main pedestrianised high street, mid way between the station and historical centre. Bedroom was spacious with high ceiling, very comfortable with adjoining en suite, all spotlessly clean and cleaned daily.
Disliked: I liked everything about the property and location, and had a most enjoyable stay.
Liked: Mr. Guido is an incredibly warm and detail-oriented host. Over our three-day stay in Salerno, he went above and beyond — serving us tasty breakfasts every morning and offering a wealth of local insights that really made our trip smoother and more enjoyable. The room is generously sized and comfortable, and the value for money is simply excellent. If you're planning a trip to Salerno, don't hesitate — this is a great choice. Highly recommended!
I wonderful stay with the added personal attention to detail and care to all guests
Liked: The owner of this delightful B and B, Guido, was so welcoming and is completely committed to making sure you have a restful stay and also the very best experience in Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. Upon arrival and checking in, Guido suggested several options on how I could spend my days exploring the Amalfi coast. The information provided was very detailed, including maps and ferry options. Basically, all the work had been done for me and all I had to do was choose what to do each day. All the information was provided to me by whatsapp, so I could access it easily and quickly. Guido suggested many options to explore around Salerno too, for example a short trip to a neighbouring town and a visit to the botanical gardens in Salerno. I loved exploring and I would have not known about these places if Guido had not taken the time and effort to show me these places and how to get to them. I wholeheartldy recommend a stay in this beautiful B and B. The room was large and very comfortable, with a lovely modern ensuite bathroom. Guido also provided a lovely breakfast, recommending local food from the bakery, and taking the time to provide a breakfast that suits personal tastes.
Disliked: Absolutely nothing.
Excellent
Liked: Guido was an excellent host at this small B&B. He created websites to help get to different places along the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii which were helpful. He also provided breakfast with local pastries or an alternate breakfast if you choose (I preferred something lighter and he accommodated with fruits and yogurt which I appreciated). Also, he provided takeaway breakfast when I wanted to leave early in the morning which was much appreciated. Room was spacious. The location is close to the metro station and one of the ports which allows easy access to Amalfi Coast and Pompeii at a cheaper cost than other cities. Air conditioning and Wifi worked great. There is a shared fridge accessible and it was always stocked with bottled water which was a bonus.
Disliked: Nothing
Clean, quiet and convenient to stay
Liked: Host is very helpful, warm and friendly, he gave us a lot of info about scams and the place, and recommendations for the local food, they’re all amazing!
Liked: B&B Il Ritratto exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts were divine. The location was absolutely perfect and within easy walking distance of everything you would want to see or do in Salerno. The host was a wealth of information and suggestions for sightseeing activities and was warm and welcoming and kind. (He also speaks fluent English for non-native speakers like myself.) I took this trip solo which can be a little intimidating, but staying at Il Ritratto felt like coming home. I will be back.
