Liked: I honestly don't like to write negative reviews, but we were disappointed with this apartment. The location is great if you arrive by train, but not ideal with a car. The decor looks like the photos, and the flat is spacious and quite comfortable. There is a small balcony. It's a 10-minute walk to the centre. The walk back is up a steep hill. There's a supermarket fairly near. The host left a tote bag as a gift.
Disliked: The biggest problem was the terrible smell of damp. It was impossible to use the wardrobe because of the smell. The kitchen is certainly not fully-equipped. There is a kettle, microwave, air-fryer & only one hot plate, so it's ok for heating things up, but not for real cooking. Kitchenware is limited and was dirty, probably because there is no drying rack for washing-up and no tea- towels. We found the floors to be very dirty, maybe we were unlucky and the flat hadn't been used for a while. There is no toilet seat in the bathroom & the bathroom door is plastic & partly transparent, so not ideal for privacy. If you open the bathroom window, you will see people walking past.
Liked: Apartment dump, dark, humid. Past reviews are fake or untrue, I don't know!
Disliked: Never met the host! Entrance door loose, no tourist info provided in the apartment. Apartment smelled of dump. It was advertised as fully furnished but there was barely a small stove and a small pan. Impossible to cook anything but a couple of eggs in the morning. Not suitable for tourists, it needs improvements. No sun light comes through. If I knew it I would not have booked this place! It took me one week to review it and I never leave bad reviews but this one was very disappointing!
Great location just a bit smelly
Liked: The property was lovely and easy to access. The owner was fantastic and very helpful. The apartment is in a lovely area and close to all the action!
Disliked: The only problem we experience was the musty smell in the bedroom and there was a sewer like smell in the bathroom. It’s meant we had to keep the drains covered all the time or the whole apartment was smelly. I understand that old buildings can have these issues, but a clean of the drains might help.
Salerno is a great town in itself and an excellent place to base yourself and explore the region
Liked: This is a nicely decorated apartment with a good layout and facilities very close to the old part of Salerno. Very easy instructions and quick response to our questions. Supermarkets and train station close by. We really enjoyed this part of town. Loved our visit to Salerno.

A great base to explore Salerno, Pompei and Paestum
Liked: Great location.
Disliked: All very spartan - Kitchenette lacking proper utensils and bench space to use appliances. Lack of instructions (first shower was cold until we worked out we had to turn the heater on for hot water) and little communication from the host. Very musty smell on bedroom and wardrobe.
