  While the room was nice, the experience was really not great

  Liked: The room itself was nice…

  Disliked: It was essentially an apartment complex where a three bedroom apartment had been converted to three separate “hotel rooms”. The parking was street parking which was always full, and it wasn’t as central to anything as they would have you believe. The impression the listing gave was it was a hotel, and not just a converted apartment.

  Do not book this place based on the pictures and the description text!!!

  Liked: The room is small but clean. The air conditioning worked well. The Wi-Fi worked well. The owner was easy to contact via WhatsApp.

  Disliked: Do not book this place based on the pictures or the description text. They are not accurate! Check the address Via Senatore Carlo Tranfo 7 on Google Maps. The apartments are located in an old apartment building on the second floor. The elevator does not work. No designated parking. Street parking only. Breakfast is at a bar about 400 meters away. Breakfast includes coffee, juice, and a croissant. No fruit or protein. Anything extra costs extra. The accommodation is not located by the beach. It’s nearly a kilometer down steep STAIRS to the beach. And the same steep climb back. Sunbeds cost from 20 euros. It’s over a kilometer to the historical center of Tropea. Downhill going, uphill returning. The accommodation is not suitable for someone with limited mobility. The apartment does not match the price paid compared to other accommodations in the area. The rooms have no balcony or sea view.

  Liked: Absolutely nothing!

  Disliked: Dangerous area.Very old building! Suspicious behavior from hostes. We leave immediately after check in o an other apartment. The photos was total different and there was damages at the room(also really small room) was written at the reservation extra PARKING and the parking was on the public road! We felt unsafe from the first minute and we pay extra money to an other hotel immediately!

  Liked: Not much.

  Disliked: First of all, it turned out that the pictures that showed the accommodation on Booking.com were not of this place. The toilet seat was broken. The shower handle was broken and could not be attached when showering. The wifi did not work at all. The guy in charge said that we just had to call him if we had any questions or needed help. He did not answer a single call. The overall experience was really, really bad.

  Disappointing and misleading information

  Liked: Francesco welcomed us and showed us where to park nearby in the street - not dedicated parking. The apartment was clean and tidy. He responded promptly to our calls.

  Disliked: Importantly the front door key to the 3 apartments does not work properly & we were locked out. Francesco suggested leaving the door open as he said our room had a lock but we showed him this lock was also broken from being forced. He refused getting a locksmith on the weekend. The pictures and description on Booking.com are misleading and not accurate: No balcony, courtyard or city views; no lift (not operating at least a year); many things need fixing such as broken toilet seat, towel rack, blind; is in a degraded area about 15 mins walk to city centre; is not 100 metres to beach (about 500 metres to nearest pebbly beach on dirty unused stairs), and beautiful beach in photos is at least 800 metres or 20 mins walk and the centre of town is 850 metres; the tea supplied is herbal and although I was told black tea would be brought, none came; no bathrobe & slippers; not well soundproofed, could hear other guests coming & going; cafe for breakfast is not close by and had a sign outside saying closed on Sunday.

  I didn’t stay. My partner was unable to bring luggage up 5 flights for health issues. We had to book another room elsew

  Liked: Nothing because it wasn’t the place I booked.

  Disliked: The address originally was 7 via Senatore Carlo Tranfo. Francesco told us to meet him at via mattia preti 11. This was not what we booked. The booking also says beachfront. We would have to climb 5 flights (not mentioned) to see a VIEW! Between the two property’s is 500 to 600 meters. The property he sent us to was 1.2 km from city center as opposed to 0.8km. It wasn’t appropriate for a family. The building outside was very, very unkept. It was a lie. This wasn’t my original booking.
