  Slummy place with a great view

  Liked: The view and location are the only good things about this apartment. You can’t beat it. You see the church on the rock, the Piazza Canone and the stairs that bring you down to the beach. The apartment was not so good. I asked the host to make sure it was very clean because I was staying for 11 nights and she assured me it would be. But like other reviews I read, it wasn’t. I would not recommend this place.

  Disliked: She left 1 roll of toilet paper for 11 nights, no tea towel, no garbage cans, no paper towel the bath towels had someone else’s makeup stains on them. The outside wall of the bathroom always had water seeping in on the floor. At first I thought it was because of the rain Tropea had the first 2 days I was there, but it just kept coming in. The more I soaked it up, the more it came in. The hostess did not even contact me once while I was there except the night before I checked out so she could make sure I left the City Tax on the table and put the key in the right place.

  Disliked: The apartment suffered from a severe damp smell and visible black mold in the cramped bathroom, which also featured a broken shower door seal. Furthermore, the stay was highly uncomfortable due to a damaged, sunken mattress and the host's failure to provide basic amenities like soap and shampoo. Finally, the property falsely advertised a real terrace and displayed an overall neglect for maintenance, evidenced by makeshift repairs throughout the rooms.

  Great location but not worth the money spent

  Disliked: There was a very bad smell that was not tolerable, the host was not helpful and rude. She gave us advice to park in a paid parking without paying, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The unit was extremely dirty and in need of a good cleaning there was mould in the bathroom and the water didn’t drain in the shower, I had dead bugs come up from the drain as I showered. Everything about this booking was unacceptable. We ended up leaving a day early and lost money from the booking and had to pay another night at a new location. Very disappointed

  Perfect stay in Tropea

  Liked: Very friendly and supportive host. Check-in and check-out were very easy and the view from the room was amazing. Great experience by a great person. 10/10

  Lowest effort

  Liked: The place has a wonderful view from the terrace and great location. But I guess they know they would rent it anyway, so here is what we found it...

  Disliked: To say we were shocked is an understatement. Traveling in low season, we think nobody has seen this place for weeks before we arrived. There were 2 cockroaches in the bathtub, one dead(! So it took a while for him to die). The cups/utensils in the kitchen were super dirty and on the terrace, there was a pile of wet cartons lying around, some dirty cloths on the lower terrace..We arrived pretty late and the lady came in the morning to clean the bugs, we could have used a bathroom downstairs instead. That's nice but also- what if that room was rented? It didn't feel good knowing those bugs were still close to us all night:P It felt like they didn't put any effort, knowing it's a great location and view, they knew they would rent it anyway. Horrible.
