  Absolutely perfect spot in a beautiful city

  Liked: I couldn't have picked a better location for our stay. My husband and I visited Tropea for 5 days/4 nights. Due to the timing of our flight we ended up in Tropea well before check-in time but were able to leave our backpacks in the locked courtyard while we went off exploring! The owner was amazing, explaining everything at check in. In fact, one day he saw us out and about town and stopped us just to make sure everything was going well with our stay. Breakfast is at a nearby restaurant was perfect - staff were so nice and the food was excellent (it actually ended up being one of our favorite restaurants in town). The b&b was in the historic centro area but in a part of town that felt very quiet (at least when we were there). We have already discussed a return trip and will absolutely stay here when we go back!

  Disliked: Absolutely nothing. The location was perfect, so was the owner and all the staff. The rooftop area was also lovely both during the day and at sunset!

  Liked: Nicely decorated room, daily cleaned, good beds, good size TV and located in the historical center. What's not to like!

  Unsafe - do not stay here

  Liked: Room was spacious, and relatively clean minus the smell of smoke, and near the center (but not close to the train station). Unfortunately, when we advised the owner about the smoke, they claimed the rooms were smoke-free, and that this would be impossible. When we went out for the day, we were returned to a perfume room - this was done without consent.

  Disliked: If you are a non-Italian tourist, please don’t stay here. We felt unsafe, especially as women. Firstly, we were not given the code for the main door upon check-in, and it was subsequently locked when we came back in the evening. There was a local outside who was able to call the owner, however, if this was not the case, we would’ve been locked outside. Secondly, in a tactic to receive cash (likely yo not claim taxes), the owner stated that my credit card did not go through. He stated it had to be resolved asap and we felt we could not leave the room. It was almost as we were being held hostage. He even came to a room with a male friend which felt as a threat. Balcony is dirty and only stairs to go down. We also felt a lack of hospitality. Overpriced for services received.
