  A very negative experience. Stay away

  Liked: The only positive thing about the property was the location. It's a short drive away from the best beaches in Tropea.

  Disliked: We were seduced by the nice pictures in the listing. When we arrived at the property, we realized we had been fooled. The property has the potential to be something truly nice, but that potential is wasted by downright neglect. A lot of things are broken or just missing entirely. The kitchen only had 2 horrible pots in it, and a lot of other basic utensils were nowhere to be found. We had no wi-fi during our entire stay there. On every morning of our stay (and one evening) we had no running water in the apartment. The pictures of the swimming pool are nice, but in reality it looks like it's been neglected like the rest of the property. The water was so murky that we didn't dare to swim in it. And the "cherry on top" of a very bad experience was the owner. He just literally ignored every single message we sent him. He's obviously just there to collect your money, and doesn't care at all about maintaining his property or helping his guests have a good experience.

  Disliked: The location is great, and the house itself is beautiful. The apartment is spacious and has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it is not well maintained, and our stay was impacted by a lack of communication and several missing or non-functioning amenities. Since the host does not live on-site, clear instructions for guests are essential, but these were missing. For example, we couldn’t find any cutlery until we contacted the host, who then explained that it was hidden in a secret drawer in the kitchen. A welcome guide with basic information would have avoided a lot of unnecessary frustration. Many of the amenities advertised on Booking were either unavailable or not working: ● The Wi-Fi password was not provided in advance. After asking, we still didn’t receive it, so we found the router ourselves and connected to the routrr, but there was no internet connection. After initially acknowledging the issue, the host stopped responding to my messages and never resolved it during our stay. As we did not have any phone Connection in the house, we had a forced digital detox during our stay. ● TV was in the flat but could not receive any channels making it unusable. ● The washing machine was only discovered by accident in the garden shed. It displayed an error message, making it unusable. ● Toiletries and Basic essentials were listed as included but things such as hand soap and a kitchen towel were missing. Considering the property is outside the city, guests should not have to purchase these basic items themselves. The pool area also lacked maintenance. The water was dirty when we arrived, and we eventually found the pool robot ourselves and started it. Again, some basic instructions for operating the equipment would have been helpful. Overall, this property has great potential thanks to its location and the beautiful house itself.

  We had a very enjoyable stay; we explored much of the Calabrian coast

  Liked: A car is required to use this property; the center of Tropea is approximately 7 km away. The property is located in a very quiet area, on a hill. It's a good base for further exploration of Calabria.

  Disliked: Screen nets on the windows and patio doors would be appreciated; ours were always open, so there was no need to use the air conditioning. The kitchen was a bit sparse (one teaspoon in the apartment), there were no glasses (the owner provided them immediately upon request), and there was no kettle to heat water. There was a problem with the hot water and water pressure, which made showering difficult. However, the owner responded quickly to any reports of a lack of hot water.

  Liked: We really liked the accommodation, quiet location near Tropea, great for trips throughout Calabria. Perfect and quick communication with the host. Villa with seaview is surrounded by beautiful garden with a swimming pool, everything clean and spacious, well equipped, comfortable bed and even barbecue available. I definitely recommend and will be happy to come again.

  Liked: The owner Danielle was very nice he picked us up from the station of tropea up to the villa and when we we're going to check out he offered to drop us off at the station and the room and the facilities were brilliant

  Disliked: The only disappointment was that we couldn't use the pool during our stay which wasn't open at the time but other than that it was brilliant
