Great space, but so hot
Liked: Good location, so spacious, fantastic terrace. Would 100% return in non-summer months!
Disliked: It’s so just so hot in summer months. I would have happily paid an extra 50 euros a night had there been air conditioning. Like we truly couldn’t sleep and 2 out of the 4 fans barely push air and need to be replaced. Pull out bed is small. Need umbrella for terrace.

Disliked: Very hot. Even at night it was a bit difficult to sleep as a fan was just not enough to keep the bedroom cool. Maybe some sort of a/c would make this stay the best stay in Vernazza.

Liked: We had a great three‑night stay at Carratino. The location is ideal, close to Vernazza’s main street, yet quiet enough to feel relaxing. The apartment has lovely views over the village, and the rooftop deck is a real highlight for enjoying breakfast or sunset. Having a washing machine was very convenient during our trip. Vernazza is the best base in Cinque Terre, and Carratino fits overall, a comfortable stay with everything you need.
Liked: Location is excellent. The updates to the apartment were well done. A note that there are THREE sets of steep marble staircases INSIDE the accommodation: 1 to the bedroom level, 2 to the kitchen and dining level, and 3 to the rooftop terrace. There can be noise from the restaurant below, but it was only loud with live music on one night of our stay. Not much in the way of a living or lounge area - just a couple of chairs outside the bedrooms. A table and tv in that space would make it feel more like a hang out space. Otherwise, it’s the dining area where you can be together. Large kitchen beside the dining table for 6, so that level is plenty spacious. The 2 bedrooms are a large size, both with a tv but we didn’t use them. A chest of drawers in each bedroom would be welcome since the rooms are large enough for more furniture. There are hangers to hang some items which was good. A real improvement would be a full length mirror in each bedroom as there isn’t one in the accommodation. Bathroom is very small but clean and modern. Could use some hooks to hang towels and some sort of ledge to put soap (which we brought luckily bc there wasn’t any) Nice new windows throughout the accommodation.
Disliked: Communication with the host was very problematic. They have a different portal which rarely opened and they would not take information via Booking.com messaging. Despite reaching out, we did not receive the door entry code until an hour before arrival in Vernazza, which was stressful as we had an appointment an hour after our train arrival (which had been communicated to the host). Due to the difficulties making contact with the host we didn’t have confidence that we would get into the accommodation. Just seemed to be degrees more of difficulty than dealing with other hosts. Once there, the apartment worked very well for our stay.
