Exceptional
Fascinating Alcalá de Júcar in a lovely apartment on the edge of the town by the river
Liked: The location was great, we enjoy walking, and being on the edge of town was great, close enough to walk to get bread etc. Easy parking at end of May, just outside the apartment. The little balcony was fine to eat on, even though it is next to the lane, in the sun in the afternoon. The kitchen was well equipped. Good internet. All very comfortable. There is aircon but we didn't need to use it as the apartment stays cool throughout the day. Lovely walk to Tolosa, 5km, and a little bar, and back along the track on the other side of the river. So much bird life, deer and squirrels. The village on the hill is fascinating, the caves, the narrow alleys and steps, and the Castle all well worth a visit.
Disliked: Nothing of consequence. Some of the floor tiles in the apartment were loose or cracked and a couple of the edges were a little sharp, (we mentioned this to the reception staff when we left).
It was just a stop over for us. It seems the hamlet has more to offer
Liked: We only spent 1 night but it was enough to see some details that can make your staying a nice staying. The apartment has everything a family of 4 can need. The town itself is photogenic but not much more than this. For us was just a stop over and you can defintely choose this place. To note, they prepare the lamber for you if you need to use the chemney.

Liked: The town is outstanding and easily walkable. Stunning views, beautiful river and fantastic walks. A real gem.
Disliked: The accommodation is dated and in particular the lounge is very sombre. Located next to a reasonably busy road. The very limited outside space faced the road and passing traffic. The pillows on the bed were like bricks. Rock hard. We booked this accommodation as it stated we had access to the pool and surrounding terrace. The reservation didn't have free cancellation. Yet within a few minutes of making the booking we received a WhatsApp informing us that the facilities were not available. Of course now we couldn't cancel our reservation! Upon arrival we asked about the pool, again this wasn't available. This was because there were large parties of school children staying in the complex. We really should have been informed of this prior to booking and the loss of facilities was really unacceptable and disappointing.

Liked: Not far from the city, although walking is too far. Well-maintained.
Disliked: There is a stove in the apartment resulting in the smell of smoke indoors.
