Exceptional
A wonderful hotel in the castle's shadow
Liked: The location was fabulous. The hotel was adjacent to the Castle of Buitrago del Lozoya and seemed to be built on the castle foundation. The room itself was quaint with rock walls, a very comfortable bed, a kitchenette, and a jacuzzi tub. Basically everything you need and quiet AC! Everything was within walking distance. I would be thrilled to stay there again!
Disliked: There was no receptionist at all except when I emailed them to say that we had arrived. The gentleman was kind and showed me to the room. There was sign that said that the reception may not always be manned, but I never saw anyone at the desk again. Parking was problematic. I emailed the hotel to ask for guidance and never heard back from them. The laundry had strange hours and people left their laundry in the machines so that you couldn't use them.
Buitrago del Lozoya was lovely and El Esquileo was a beautiful and special place to stay. We loved it
Liked: The location was great and the room we stayed in, Cashmere, was wonderful, with all you needed in it and with double doors opening out to a view of the Church and castle walls.

Great accommodation in lovely town
Liked: Great location. Secure, clean, modern and everything you need. Parking nearby
Disliked: Walls were a little thin and vould hear neighbours talking on occasion. Not sure if this was just specific to our room. We didnt have windows looking out but 2 roof velux type windows.
Liked: It was clean and comfortable
Disliked: I didn't like the open plan bathroom. I like privacy when I go to the toilet.
Well renovated historic building but a bit institutional
Liked: Very clean and spacious apartment once we requested to be moved into an apartment that was described on our booking. Nice powerful shower. A lovely private seating area right outside our room.
Disliked: Although the room looked great, tastefully renovated it offered the bare minimum particularly in the kitchen area. No kitchen roll, basic condiments like salt and olive oil. Couldn’t find a breakfast bowl and would have liked a kettle. There were some prepackaged pastries and coffee pods but no water particularly as it was 33 degrees outside. Finally the worst of all was the cheap and nasty pillows on the bed which were so uncomfortable. For these reasons a premium cost should offer premium equipment and for that I marked this property down.
