Exceptional
Home from home in Penafiel
Liked: This was simply an excellent place. The owner, Lourdes, was so warm and welcoming and helped to make our stay memorable. The little house, attached to hers, is beautifully designed, with an artistic eye. We were also able to enjoy the peace of the beautiful garden. We had breakfast, for which you pay extra, but it was superb. It was very quiet, but only a 5 minute walk into town.
Disliked: We loved everything!
Liked: The owner goes out of her way to make you feel welcome in this well converted secondary dwelling in her home. The bed was comfortable and the sofa-bed also, and she made a great breakfast and kindly served it very early.
Disliked: Peñaranda is very beautiful but spookily dead. We were unable to even find a bar or café open, and only saw one person in the whole village. I'm not sure I'd want to spend long there.
A welcoming place in an interesting town
Liked: Very nicely designed accommodation, everything worked, helpful proprietor, walking distance to the main area of Peñaranda.
Liked: We received such a warm welcome from Lurdes. The accommodation was very comfortable with a beautiful, secluded garden to enjoy the sunshine. It takes only minutes to walk to the historic town where you can soak up the atmosphere, and the castle is definitely worth a visit.
Liked: We stayed at Loft La Buena Vida during our December cycling trip along the Camino del Cid and had an incredible stay! It was very conveniently located along our route, in a beautiful rural village. Lourdes was exceptionally kind and friendly. Despite the language barrier, she offered a warm welcome and ensured we had everything for a comfortable visit, making us feel immediately at home. The casita is amazing: very spacious, featuring a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living/dining area, and a romantic loft bedroom. The decor is colorful and charming, and the bed was very comfortable. The large wood pellet stove kept the entire space wonderfully warm and cozy, which was a blessing after a cold day of cycling. Cyclists: the casita has a sheltered garden for secure bike storage—a huge plus! Highly recommend. Thank you so much, Lourdes, for your warm hospitality!
