    Very enjoyable

Liked: Great room and lovely location. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: No facility for making tea or coffee and the breakfast was quite expensive. Some of our party were concerned about the inability to turn on the heating, but this was apparently out of the hotel's control and due to an edict issued by the town council.

    Disappointing

    Liked: Good location. Comfortable bed.

Disliked: There was no heating, and the weather was cold. Room was freezing, not helped by the staff leaving the window open when they cleaned. Reception told me there was no heating because of something to do with the Town Hall. Whatever the reason, the situation was unacceptable. The breakfast was expensive at 16 Euros, and not particularly good. The shower plumbing had been wrongly installed, and I thought there wasn't hot water until staff showed me that the tap worked the opposite way to all others in Spain.

Good hotel for a few nights in Salamanca

Liked: Good location and great view of the old town from my room. Clean and comfortable for a few nights.

Disliked: Could do better in terms of customer service - fine, but no focus on guests. Bar rather disappointing when, set in church ruins, it could have been a point of interest and focus with a bit more attention.

San Polo is a lovely boutique hotel, located in the city center of Salamanca by the ruins

Liked: San Polo was a good hotel.

Disliked: MY big problem was with Booking.com. My initial search with Booking.com was for a hotel/lodging in Salamanca, MADRID. I was browsing through several hotels etc. and somehow, your search engine brought me to Hotel San Polo, without my knowing that it was in Salamanca Province and not in Salamanca Madrid. I was not aware of this until about a day before my scheduled booking when I was contacted by San Polo.regarding this reservation. I was surprised because I had no intention to travel to Salamanca which is a 3 hour train ride from Madrid where I originally intended to be. I requested to cancel the booking from the hotel but San Polo said I had to directly contact Booking.com. I was unable to contact you because there is no number nor email I could reach Booking.com. Instead of losing the payment already made to BOOKING, I decided to travel to Salamanca and stay at San Polo. Because of the travel, I lost the first day of my reservation as well as incurred cost for the train ride to Salamanca. Would truly appreciate if you could refund me for the one day stay at san Polo and the train ride. I hope you can address this issue on your web booking so that this does not happen to other people as well.
