Exceptional
Best stay of my whole Camino
Liked: Great family run place. Jaun the host / owner went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Regular single beds and a fabulous pilgrim dinner. The outdoor lounging area was spacious and beautiful.
Great place with exceptional service
Liked: Beautiful hotel, and Juan went above and beyond to welcome us and organise a dentist and taxi.
Disliked: Nothing
Amazing accommodations, restaurant, and staff!
Liked: This hotel & albergue is absolutely amazing, and a wonderful destination in Villafranca. The property is beautiful and has a large and inviting patio to relax in when you arrive. Folks are frequently hanging out or enjoying a beverage, making it feel quite lively and fun. The rooms are a great size, the beds & linens incredible comfortable, and everything is spotless. They also have a washer/dryer for peregrinos. If you are staying here, do not miss dining at the restaurant. We ordered off the Menu del Dia, and the meal is one of the most memorable of our Camino experience. Best of all is the charming and hard-working front-of-house property manager, Juan. He welcomes everyone like family, is helpful and informative, and goes the extra mile to make everyone feel special. I love family run businesses, and this family has created a wonderful experience to all who stay here!
Stellar place to stay! Great rooms and great food!
Liked: The staff is excellent! Juan took such good care of us!
Disliked: There was nothing about the property I did not like.
Liked: Absolutely everything! Super amazingly friendly staff, the spacious and stylish and comfortable room, the quietness for resting, amazing terrace and other common area to chill, and laundry machines. Everything was perfect! It has been the best accommodation I had on the Camino. I felt I was treated as a guest instead of a pilgrim.
Disliked: Nothing!
Liked: This property is much nicer than it appears in the photos. I booked a private room but there is an albergue there as well. There is a lovely porch overlooking a garden that I sat and had a glass of wine on while waiting for my laundry. The bar is nice and the food was very good. I had the pilgrim menu for dinner, the sausage and bean soup was delicious. The owner (Juan?) is very friendly and goes to extra effort to help his guests with anything they need. The room was very comfortable and I slept very well. I was unable to walk this part of the Camino due to injury, but have resolved to come back and walk the stages I missed, and intend to book here again.
Disliked: One suggestion is to add a railing to the stairs leading to the second floor private rooms. My knees aren't the greatest and it is helpful to have something I can grab onto for balance.
