What a fabulous city and a great hotel with lovely friendly staff perfectly located

Liked: The location was perfect, the staff were very pleasant and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was great and hotel was smart and clean.

Disliked: A little bit bit more hanging and drawer space would have been the icing on a delicious cake!

Very enjoyable hotel stay in a great location!

Liked: Great staff, clean hotel, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, pleasant and relaxing lobby area, excellent buffet breakfast.

Disliked: The room was a good size but, as with so many hotel rooms these days, the interior designer assumed that people travel without luggage or clothes. Apart from one open glass unit, there was nowhere to store anything. There were bedside table tops but they were not solid units with drawers in them so one could not store books, electronic devices, cables etc. The work table was a good size but, again, had no cupboards or drawers. The bathroom was very nice but the wash basin was a metre long semi-circular glass trough which, because of its shape, did not drain very well, leaving residue unless one kept cleaning it with one’s hands. There is a very good reason why basins have always had a three-dimensional curve - it allows proper drainage. A fancy design should not come at the express of good functioning!

The staff make up for ths hotel's deficiencies. Very central location

Liked: 1. The staff make this hotel. Aelia and Adrien were very helpful and understanding of the shortcomings and helped me. They were courteous, empathetic and professional. Thank you most sincerely. Keep up the good work. Anil in the Kitchen whom I met on last day was again helpful. 2. The central location. Local transport – bus and trams right there. 3. The excellent natural light and room size 4. The Management left me a personal signed letter from Nathalie Marzin stating that in Booking.com rating system “any score below 8/10 is considered a poor rating…impact on our visibility.” She went on to say that if happy, I should rate at 9/10. This solicitation I think is unprofessional as the service should speak for itself. So, Mme. Marzin, I regret I cannot give the property a rating better than 5/10.

Disliked: 1. There was NO airconditioning for three full days. I was there for five nights / days and it began on only on the 4th day. The management should have offered a discount of say 20% on room rate for deficient facility esp with outside temp of 30 - 35 degs. I had the use of a fan but that was totally insufficient. I could not leave the windows at night open as all the considerable loud noise from the delivery service boys chatting at ground level could be heard clearly until late at night. (there are restaurants near the property hence they congregate there). 2. The hotel is designed for style, not functionality! Look at the hot water container and hot food containers at breakfast – difficult to use, look at the bathroom lights, the side lights next to the bed. And especially the glass cupboard which is truly minimalist in style and function. 3. This is not a FOUR star hotel as promoted. They don’t have basic facilities like a tea / coffee kettle in the rooms! I drink tea before breakfast and in the afternoon and had to go down to Reception area where they have a hot water / coffee / tea facility. On the 3rd day, Aelia was kind enough to bring me the kettle for my use which helped me. 4. There is no fridge in the room. The staff kept my perishable food items in the kitchen fridge. Thank you. 5. The internet serviice was appalling. The staff could not tell me where one should face to get a good signal. 6. Bathroom lighting is pitiful. One cannot see one’s face in the mirror when shaving. The mirror by the room door had no light above it. So you rely on natural light for your needs!! 7. On arrival, a young trainee (Mayeline?) asked me for Euro 50 as a deposit. I said I had already paid the hotel bill for five nights in advance and there was no booking.com rule saying E 50.00 was to be paid. When asked for a receipt, she refused. I asked for the Manager, she refused. 8.

Disliked: We were here last year around the same time and the AC didn’t work. Came back this year, still the AC didn’t work. They advertise something that apparently never works, just look at the other reviews.
