  Budget hotel, location makes up for shabby rooms

  Liked: Great location, friendly staff, clean enough. They fixed a fan when we asked.

  Disliked: Shabby rooms, old and not well maintained. Bad beds. Very loud outside, especially the street cleaning at 05.30 Sunday morning. Not a problem when you can keep the windows closed, but it was a heat wave and we needed to sleep with windows open.

  Liked: Central location and easy access to a variety of public transport lines. The price is also very good. Despite some miscommunication due to language barriers, the person in charge was very nice and attentive.

  Disliked: The room had dust and some dirt in some corners, the bathroom was very small and the bed was making noises every time I moved. The hotel was located next to a well frequented bar, so there was a lot of noise late in the night (not the hotel's fault in this case, of course) and the central heating was off, despite it being 3º C at night, so we were very cold until the second day, when the owner offered us an electric radiator.

  I love Reims and I will come back and probably stay there again

  Liked: I knew that in Europe, hotels are not roomy. I knew that this was not a typical, American style hotel. I describe it as a restaurant w a bar and several rooms above but I loved it. The owner is a sweet man who runs operations daily. I met some of the neighbors and became friends w them. I felt entirely safe walking around and my room had everything I needed. I was entirely charmed by the town and the people. I am definitely going back and I like the intimacy of the stay which would not be possible in one of the larger more expensive hotels. Oh, another restaurant owner told me that the restaurant attached has the best couscous in Reims. I ran out of time to try it but will be back.

  Disliked: I know some people will not like that the linens are not typical hotel quality but i felt like a guest in their home and I did not mind at all. The price was right and the experience exceeded my hopes.

  Clean and convenient in excellent location

  Liked: The hotel is in a fantastic location, round the corner from the cathedral, and right in the middle of the main shopping and entertainment area. Lots of cafes, bars and restaurants just round the corner. Rooms were tight, but clean and toilets and bathrooms new. The shower pressure was excellent - a special pleasure on a hot day.

  Disliked: Didn't specify I needed to order meals, including breakfast, in advance, it should be made more clear when booking. For the light sleepers it could have been a problem, but for us it was a pleasure: as the weather was hot, we kept the windows open, so had a share in the party outside all through Saturday night.

  Liked: The location of the hotel is excellent. It is so near all the amenities. There is a car park opposite which is very convenient. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was superb. The cous cous had previously been mentioned as excellent and I can confirm this. The food was sublime. The room had toiletries in them, which smelt lovely and was unexpected.

  Disliked: It was an extremely hot day and night. The room was very hot. We had the window open for ventilation, which then means you have to deal with street noise. The noise is not the hotel fault, it is a very central location, which is why we stayed there. Maybe if fans could be in the room it might be more comfortable. Other than the heat, I can't complain.
