  Good service, great food

  Liked: The breakfast is superb. That’s usually not the first thing to say, but it stands out. The restaurant is also nice. Of course it’s very central, we walked to the Joan D’Arc museum which is three minutes away.

  Disliked: I wouldn’t mind a coffee machine.

  Comfortable stay minutes from Rouen Cathedral

  Liked: The hotel is literally a few minutes away from the majestic Rouen Cathedral. It is also very close to pedestrian only shopping streets. The staff was friendly and a woman at reception was very helpful to me when I wanted to go to a concert being held at the Rouen Cathedral. You couldn’t get tickets online and it was only a few hours away. She made a few calls and voilà I was enjoying the concert! Nice breakfast buffet. A taxi from the train/ bus station should cost around 15 euros or less. If you take a local bus, you can use your credit card to pay. It was a few stops then a short walk down cobblestone streets..

  Disliked: Not a criticism but an observation. If you opt for a room with a balcony you may get a very small balcony with no chair or table and a very partial view of cathedral. You are so close to the cathedral, it really doesn’t matter if you have a balcony. At the same time, even a tiny balcony is good for watching the action on the street below.

  Liked: Excellent location, comfy beds and liked the water station

  Disliked: Strange smell in the rooms and bathroom had to close the bathroom door and get an air freshener, food wasn’t as good as expected and didn’t have half the menu - was more 3 star then 4 in my opinion and although reception looked lovely the floors to the rooms looked very tired

  Grubby outdated room

  Liked: Staff were friendly. Location is good for visiting the city.

  Disliked: We booked a suite with a cathedral view specifically for the view, but were on the other side of the hotel from the cathedral and it could only be seen from the seating room window if you pressed your face against the glass. The room itself was very grubby and outdated. Cheap Ikea furniture which is not really what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Dirty marks and scratches on the walls, peeling paint in areas. The bathroom was pretty gross, mould and dark stains around every edge and cheap linoleum floors. For €200 a night I'd expect something less grubby.
