  All in all, we were happy to be there

  Liked: This was a large apartment with a working kitchen and a good sized refrigerator and a glasstop stove, a large dining/living area and a large king size bed in the spacious bedroom with plenty of closets. The balcony facing the ocean is very big with a enclosed charcoal bar-b-q with a hot plate above and a large dining table. Great view of the fishing port. The thing that surprised us is that, first, we never met the owner, the key was in a box with a numbered code provided to us in advance. This is also where we were advised to leave the 20 Euros City Tax before we left. Secondly the “first” floor of the apartment was up 40+ inside steep stairs, half of it with no ramp, and above the street level trattoria. Rather arduous for seniors carrying a large suitcase. Then, once inside, it was 2 steps up to the living area or about seven steps to the bedroom and bathroom (the “second” floor). The bed was comfortable but the couch in the living area had a large base which made it uncomfortable to sit on. Good wifi in the living area and a desk type table to work or eat with 4 plastic chairs. There was a small clothes washing machine in the bathroom but we couldn’t figure out how to use it. So all in all, we were happy with the rental as it was located down a winding road to the ocean and several good restaurants in the single fairly quiet street facing the ocean.

  Superb

  Liked: Beautiful location in the heart of this peaceful fishing village … bus going into Acireale every hour. Amazing views … felt like we were part of the villages every day life. Great swimming points too 🥰

  Disliked: All was great but the beds are too firm … A better mattress would make it 10/10.
