Would not recommend - poor communication ruined our stay
Liked: We stayed at this property (Appartamento Luna, Alguer Relais) in early September and unfortunately cannot recommend it, due to a stream of communication problems and misunderstandings that started before we even arrived and continued every single day of our stay. Before arrival: We tried reaching the host through the Booking.com messaging system and by email but never received replies through either channel - we only got responses once we switched to WhatsApp. We had asked in advance about bed configuration and whether the apartment had a private bathroom, but these questions went unanswered. Check-in confusion: Our flight landed late, so we requested a late check-in window (22:00–23:00), which we had already gotten approved through Booking.com at the time of the booking one month before our stay. Despite this, the host asked us to "confirm" the same request multiple times, and self check-in instructions were promised on the check-in day. We messaged them on check-in day, and they told us the info would be sent the next day - they did not even know when we arrive. When we told them we were arriving that same day, they sent us a message saying to pay City Tax via a link in order for them to send us the details on a filly paid Booking in advance which felt like blackmail seconds before boarding our plane. City tax is supposed to be collected upon arrival as they say on Booking,com, and not blackmailed with for check-in details. City tax payment issues: Throughout our stay, the host repeatedly tried to charge us the city tax through a Revolut payment link that failed every time with a "declined due to suspicious activity" error. We reported this problem more than once and explicitly agreed with a team member that we would pay in cash instead - only for the same broken payment link to be sent to us again every day of our stay day, as if the earlier conversation never happened.
Disliked: but had to keep following up. Check-out: Getting clarity on check-out was equally disorganized. We asked when someone would be available to come by and have us pay the City Tax half an hour before check-out, and they again replied the following day - did not know our check-out time. When we clarified they told us that someone will drop by in 10 minutes only to have us wait for 45 minutes and only upon us asking them again they told us to leave the money inside the apartment. Finally, they had us throwing out the trash with fines of 100Euro if not disposed properly while charging us a 60Euro cleaning fee. Overall, nothing about the apartment itself was the main problem - it was the constant miscommunication, repeated requests for the same information, broken payment systems, and lack of proactive updates that made this stay stressful from start to finish. We do not recommend this host to future guests!

Liked: I loved the lay out of the apartment with the roof, everything met all of our needs and the beds were so so comfy. Even the sofa bed was comfy for a sofa bed but bare in mind if there are 2 people on the sofa bed you can feel every movement so one person on the sofa bed would have been better, but that’s no fault of the property. The tv was super modern and clear, the little kitchen worked for all our needs and the bathrooms were super cool with the big ceiling shower and coloured lights. Gorgeous!
Disliked: Sometimes the main fuse would trip if we’d use the electric hob, but that was super easily fixable by just flicking the fuse in the fuse box back up. Maybe there could have been a couple more cleaning amenities too but other than that, perfect.
Liked: Great location, the flat was clean and communication with the host was fast.
Disliked: One issue we experienced was with the electricity supply. There is a key that needs to be left in place for the electricity to work, so whenever we went out, the electricity was switched off and the fridge stopped working. This was worrying as food could spoil. We also experienced a complete power outage once during our stay. After around an hour of communicating with the host, the electricity was eventually restored. Overall, this was inconvenient and something that could be improved for future guests.

Liked: The space was spotlessly clean, charmingly designed, and equipped with facilities we needed. The location is unbeatable with easy access to everything nearby. The staff were fantastic and communication was completely seamless from start to finish.
Disliked: A few small things to note: the flat is a bit dark, and the photos can be a bit confusing as the single-bedroom option does not come with a terrace. Sound also carries easily from upstairs—we could hear footsteps and music, which made sleeping difficult the first couple of nights (though through no fault of the hosts). Additionally, the local Sardinian recycling rules take a bit of effort and planning to figure out.
