  Good location but low level of cleanliness

  Liked: the location is very good, though can be noisy in the evenings, as there are some restaurants and a bar on the ground floor, with many people congregating outside until very late. The rooms are large, though not well designed, for example too much storage space and not enough seating.

  Disliked: my main concern during this stay was the poor level of cleanliness. the floors were dirty, there were crumbs and hair found from previous guests. overall very poor level of hygiene. I brought this up on the WhatsApp chat with the host team, as soon as we checked in on the first night, and there was no response to my request to get a cleaner to check and complete cleaning the room. We had no option but to stay the second night, as the room rate already paid was high and we had no remaining budget to book elsewhere. If the room rate was low, our expectations would have been lower and perhaps could forgive an imperfect room, but given the price we paid and the number of rooms we booked ( 3) I find it unacceptable that a reasonable standard of hygiene wasn't kept. The bedsheets didn't feel freshly washed either. We were asked to provide a 8 or 9 for a review on booking, which I found is not worthy and would be a disservice to future travellers looking to book a decent stay. I do feel quite betrayed that this property was rated higher by guests on booking and had higher expectations, but now understand the rating may be coerced to a certain extent by hosts.

  Liked: Charming historic building. Perfect location. Nicely decorated appartment, kitchen with espresso coffee machine, nice spacious bathroom. We enjoyed occasionally hearing lovely piano music play.

  Expensive for what you get

  Liked: Great location.

  Disliked: It wasn't possible to open the window, we had to sleep with air condition on, eventhough it was 15 degres outside. Plastic on the mattress, makes it super sweaty

  Liked: The room was spacious, with all the amenities you could need for a one night stay. All very clean and with an added interest of sleeping in a old palazzo. Location was central and near many museums and bars and although it's in a busy street, you don't hear much from the room, thankfully.

  Disliked: The bed wasn't very comfortable, so soft it sank considerably with our weight. The floor tiles were old and beautiful but some were quite loose and dust would rise from underneath them when moved. The shower looked very promising but it wasn't working properly, the showerhead holder was falling and the overhead one was a bit blocked so little water would come through. Plus there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Little work and attention is required and it could've been a perfect experience.
