Unexpected Extra Charges and a Stressful Check-in Experience

Disliked: Disappointing experience – unexpected additional charges Unfortunately, my experience at Arre Mida was disappointing, mainly because of the owner's attitude regarding an honest booking mistake. We were two families and booked two double rooms. By mistake, I selected one guest per room instead of two. I acknowledged the error and was willing to pay the difference, which was approximately €5 per room per night on Booking.com, as well as any applicable city taxes. However, the owner initially demanded an additional €100, justifying the amount with various extra costs and last-minute modification fees. After a lengthy and unpleasant exchange of messages, he eventually reduced the amount to €40. What bothered me most was not the money itself, but the way the situation was handled. Instead of trying to resolve a simple misunderstanding fairly, the owner made us feel uncomfortable and put us in a position where we had to either accept the additional charge or risk not being accommodated as planned. I understand that booking mistakes can have consequences, but I believe guests deserve transparency, reasonable charges, and respectful communication. An unnecessarily stressful experience that left a very negative impression of the property.

Liked: Firstly the stay and rooms were amazing. Location, cleanliness and facilities were fantastic. Cannot thank Ernesto enough for also assisting us with last minute changes to our plans, he went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Thank you 🙏 😊
