An authentic stay in a vibrant medieval city!
Liked: Location is fantastic, right in the middle of the old city (Bari Vecchia). The old city is so beautiful and so many locals still live there which gives the place a homely feel - we loved coming home in the evenings to nod and say hello to the older ladies who gathered outside the apartment in the little square. Our host Fabrizio was extremely helpful and always so positive - he responded very quickly to any questions we had and we were very impressed with him! The fridge was fully stocked with everything we needed for a snack and there was also plenty of tea/coffee and drinks included. The upstairs terrace was a lovely way to start the day with a coffee or indeed begin the evening with a glass of wine! One thing to be aware of is that its a tall apartment over 3 floors (including the terrace) and as its a very old building its tall rather than wide so the two staircases are a little steep but once we got used to them it was perfectly fine and perfectly safe, in our opinion. Overall I would totally recommend this apartment for an authentic stay in Bari Vecchia!

Disliked: I had been in touch with Fabrizio before we arrived in Bari. He seemed like a nice person. When we arrived at the property, which was an adventure in itself, I noticed the stairway leading to the bedroom was very steep and narrow. My wife has a bad leg and she was very concerned about going up and down the stairs. There is a picture of the back of the stairs on Booking.com but it really doesn’t show how steep and narrow they are. I contacted Fabrizio and told him about the stair issue. He seemed concerned and said he had another apartment that would suit our needs better. Unfortunately the apartment was already occupied. We decided to find different lodging and I asked Fabrizio if we could get a partial refund. The apartment was non-refundable, but he assured me that he would refund a part of the $648. I kept in contact with him over the next couple of days. He asked for a way to deposit money into my account. I gave him my PayPal info and that’s when he became nasty. I understand it is a non refundable apartment but he repeatedly said he would make things right. If you have any issues climbing stairs DO NOT STAY HERE.
The worst service. The owner is liar
Disliked: The worst service Never visit The owner is liar. We had not water starting from second day of our visit, he promised to refund us, then mention that will refund half of the amount, then mention that the issue may result because of us, which could not happen because we have not been at home even and the neighbors also didn’t have water. Never visit this place.
