Exceptional
Spacious room with nice view
Liked: Spacious room with lovely view. Loved the free access to the gardens, which are a great shortcut to the centre.
Disliked: Good for a couple of days but facilities are limited for longer
Relaxing stay
Liked: I enjoyed staying in apartment Alberto that was a short walk from the centre. The studio was very spacious and light filled. Access to the next door gardens was also nice.
Disliked: There are some hills to walk up from the town centre at arrival. The spiral staircase up should have been listed as could be hard for some to access especially with heavy luggage.

Liked: We liked simplicity and country side style room.The location 15 min walk to Bellagio or 10 min to S.Giovanni ferries. The bus stop is quite close, the only thing those steep steps or just simple by boat from Bellagio. A bit up to hill then down the hill. Arriving by bus from Como can be a bit challenging. During the daytime they are fully full.
Liked: The privacy; the view out to the gardens and lake; the elevation; the outdoor seating area; the walkway to the lake across the street; the lack of congestion. Melzi is on the far side from the majority of tourist areas, yet very close to the ferries and the promenade. It was wonderful to stroll (free to tenants) through the gardens before encountering the crowds each day. We had read that Varenna was the place to stay and that Bellagio is expensive. We found it to be just the opposite. A day by ferry o Varenna allowed us to see and do all we wanted to see there, including lunch at the castle.
Disliked: My husband very sweetly stayed upstairs because I had an accident that resulted in a rotator cuff tear in Lucarno and was still experiencing pain. He hit his head on the low beams up there five times in our 4 day visit. The edges are sharp and jagged. It would be nice if they could be padded in some way.
Great location made for a very enjoyable stay
Liked: Great location near lake & parklands and away from the overly busy parts of town. On site parking which is hard to find here. Our apartment was spacious and communication with our host excellent.
Disliked: Our apartment would have been more comfortable with more thoughtful furnishings and kitchen equipment. For example no couch and only a breakfast bar type table to sit at.
Relaxing stay near Villa Melzi
Liked: The location is perfect. Just in front of Villa Melzi's entrance. The distance to Bellagio center is an easy 10 minute walk. Bed and pillows are comfi. And the whole appartment is clean and aiconditioned. And the host is so friendly and accomodating.
