Exceptional
Beautiful Varena
Liked: It was super clean and there was a small pebble beach accessible to relax on. Very quaint Italian 3 bedrooms house with one bathroom. Owners generous with amenities and the washing machine welcomed!! We walked twice a day into Varena for the ferry and ti dine! 40 mins round trip, got the steps in! Franko kindly dropped us if to Varena railway station
Disliked: It is a good 20 mins walk into Varena and 30 mins to the ferry terminal for Bellagio, Menagio etc Also no local shops for basics so can have breakfast at the villa! No bakery or shop, so you’re stuck having to go into Varena. If you have a car you can drive but no where to park your car. If you have kids may not be suitable due to accessibility.
Liked: We always holiday in Italy and this house has been one of our best experiences! The house was amazing. Quite location, on the lake, beautiful scenery and a 15 minute walk into Varenna which suited us. The house was spacious and had everything we needed. Local train stop in fiumalatte just a few steps up from the house. Thank you Franco for dropping us into the train station in varenna on our way home. Would highly recommend.

Super house with amazing views over lake Como
Liked: Everything! Well equipped and comfortable, amazing views from balconies and peaceful location by private beach.
Disliked: A little but further out from Varenna than anticipated. Walk from Fiumelatte Station was ridiculously too steep and bumpy with a suitcase, no way we could have considered taking it back up the same way so highly recommend alighting in Varenna if travelling with luggage. ( We are in our 60’s and reasonably fit and active.)
Liked: Beach was lovely. House very clean. Beautiful views. Host was very helpful
Unforgettable
Liked: The location right in front of the lake. We swam there every day.
Disliked: All rooms need a fan during summer nights.
A haven on the lake
Liked: Quiet location right on the lake with a great view and the constant sound of water lapping. Access to a little pebbly beach. Spacious and well-equipped, including a much-appreciated washing machine. Only a 15 minute walk into Varenna (which was quite crowded at times). Very helpful host.
Disliked: The beds were a little hard for our liking but might suit others who prefer a matttess on the firm side.
