  Hard to get to, but worth the trip

  Liked: The room was very clean. That is important to use. Lots of nice amenities. The owner obviously wants to provide very high quality. The towels were the best I have ever had down from a 5 star hotel. They provided booties for our feet and nice toiletries. The room was very big which made the sparce furniture stand out. Everything was new and the bed was excellent.

  Disliked: The general location was central but difficult. All the strees are one way so when you miss it (notice I said when, not if), you will spend sometime getting back to the same spot. Parking is on the street and we parked 3 blocks away and walked up. It was hard to find the entrance (one small sign) and once through the first door we had to ask people working in their shops how to get to the hotel entrance. It was one of a number of doors out of this terrace. Then we walked up and there were no additional signs. When I finally got to the top floor I had to choose between two doors and picked the wrong one. Before you go, get more details and hope for better signage. Once inside, you will be pleased.

  Great location, helpful staff and big clean rooms in a fine old building

  Liked: Beautiful big, clean room in a lovely old building that makes you really feel at home in the old part of Caltagirone. A great location, very helpful staff, and the next time I come to Caltagirone I will definitely stay here again. There are plenty of stairs to get to the hotel which is on the third floor, but that's very Caltagirone as well!

  Liked: Fantastic location. Good value. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. Quiet historic building near the bottom of the famous stairs. Lovely people. Good breakfast, adapted for a vegetarian. Good tips on where to eat. Vanessa and Anna are treasures. They helped with transport when I was stranded courtesy of Trenitalia who were running buses due to track work, but....the bus never showed up. Sicily has its challenges so good help can be invaluable. I recommend.

  Disliked: Maybe a blanket. The Aircon worked fine, though.
