Magical stay in Lecce

Liked: Lovely accommodation, beautifully furnished and very clean. Central location just within the city walls, lots of restaurants locally to choose from. 5 minute walk to the cathedral. The staff were brilliant, really helpful and providing various local specialities for breakfast- which was more than plentiful. We were even given a tour of the family home.

Our best hotel stay in all of Italy over multiple weeks of travel
Liked: This is really the best place in Lecce, the most beautiful inland town in Southern Puglia. It was our best hotel stay in Italy. Owned by 2 doctors, descendants of the original Muratore owners, it offers several advantages over other properties. 1) It is right on the dividing line between the old town and the new, so the back door is across the street from the closest, most convenient parking lot in all of Lecce that is outside of the ZTL. And the front door opens right into the nicest neighborhood in the old town. 2) It is only 4 rooms opening onto a beautiful lobby/slash breakfast room, where a wonderful full breakfast was served by 3 staff, either in the room or in the beautiful garden just outside. 3) The staff is fantastic, anticipating every need in 5-star Ritz Carlton/Four Seasons style. The lead speaks good English. The physician owner also tries to greet each guest and offers a tour of the rest of the property, which is her home. 4) It has incredibly beautiful outdoor spaces, including a large pool, very relaxing for a siesta in the middle of a day of sightseeing. 5) The bathroom is fantastic, with a spa shower. The room is large, charming, and filled with light. 6) Every corner of the place is like an Instagram photo. Not to be missed!
