Exceptional
Understated luxury in the best location run by the kindest people
Liked: A luxurious historic palazzo in the best location, but the thing that really made the experience was the staff; the manager Cristina and family owner Geltrude. Wonderful people.
Disliked: Nothing
Overall for the price we were disappointed. I think we would have been happy to pay £250 euros but we do think the room
Liked: Great location. Comfy bed and new shower facilities. Very elegant furniture.
Disliked: Our room had paint flaking from the walls. We paid a premium price of £475 euros so would expect the room to be in good decorative order. We were unable to lock our door so not suitable for women solo travellers. Also the safe was not secured to the wall. The wall in the reception area also had paint flaking. It felt like someone’s home rather than a boutique hotel feel.
Superb
Liked: Superb Historical old building that has been converted into a lovely boutique hotel with all modern amenities but still keeping the historical charm.A very authentic experience. The host, Geltrude and her staff were extremely wonderful, helped us with our luggage, parking, helpful tips on restaurants and Leece. The location is perfect, close to everything. The hotel has a great rooftop area to enjoy an aperitif at sunset.
Liked: The place is run down a bit although renovated. It is ok bcs it is an historic palace The staff was great breakfast fabulous
Great first visit to Lecce in a stunning hotel
Liked: The hotel is beautiful and right in the centre of the old town. Gertrude the owner is fantastic. Our train was delayed and she waited until 2h00 to check us in. She knows the area and everyone knows her! Her restaurant recommendations were great. The hotel has a great rooftop area for beautiful sunsets.
Disliked: Nothing
Perfect place to stay and explore Lecce
Liked: What a wonderful stay we had at Palazzo Guido! We were originally booked for 4 nights but loved it so much we stayed for an extra 2 nights. Our host and owner Geltrude was lovely. The Palazzo had been in her family for generations. She gave us history on the palazzo, very interesting. The room was spacious, comfy bed, quiet and decorated with a lot of unique pieces of furniture. There was a nice seating area, nice clean bathroom and my personal favorite, a heated towel warmer😊 The common areas were so thoughtfully done, Geltrude told me when she remodeled she tried to preserve the integrity of the Palazzo and she did a great job. Lots of old interesting family photos, books and more beautiful antiques. There is a rooftop with seating area, perfect view of the cathedral and a beautiful place to sit and watch the sunset. The location is perfect, close to all the cathedrals, museums, historical sites and restaurants. Geltrude was so helpful with restaurant recommendations, making bookings for us. We plan to go back next year!
