Fabulous
Lovely Stay in a Wonderful Location
Liked: B&B Lepanto is in the most wonderful location you could find in Messina! The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. The B&B is located in a beautiful building that is a 2 minute walk to the Astronomical Clock of the Cathedral of Messina and surrounded by multiple restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and the most wonderful pastry shop we've been to in Italy!
Disliked: The door to the shared space of the B&B (check-in and hallway) rattles when others open their doors (okay once you know what's going on) and those doors aren't very well sound-proofed - but the windows and walls are wonderfully soundproofed (and the windows are gorgeous).
Liked: Very clean and comfortable room. In a central location. As long as you can manage stairs, I can strongly recommend these rooms. Perfect for exploring Palermo on foot.
Disliked: Nothing to report.
Location, location, location!
Liked: Location was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and in actually booking a taxi for us as we had an early departure. There were several restaurants nearby with a varied choice of cuisines. We used a taxi to get here to and from the train station and don't have a good sense for how far. (we are older with some walking difficulties) We would highly recommend this place and will definitely go back the next time we visit Messina. Hopefully soon:)
Disliked: Be aware that there are stairs after you enter to get to the elevator which may be a problem for some. I have walking issues but could managed as there is a good railing.

Disliked: Too dark reception room and floor, a bit lout at night, synthetic smell in the shower, warm water was missing a day,

Disliked: Coffee machine (free) is shared with other guests and situated in the hallway. Some noise (loud music) from the street despite double-glazing etc.
