  Excellent VFM, just be aware if you're coming from the port area with luggage

  Liked: The location was excellent from our perspective as we needed the station for travel to Taormina (Greek Theatre, well worth the visit) and onward to Palermo. Snacks and coffee were available (free) in the the reception area and the rooms were a haven of peace in a busy cosmopolitan area of the city. The breakfast is in a cafe downstairs, small but adequate. There are plenty of additional cafes and restaurants nearby.

  Disliked: We landed at the port after ferry crossing from the mainland and initially struggled with transport. (Taxi wanted 25 euro for 1-2 mile journey) My son eventually sourced an "Uber" for 12 euros. The entrance is a large wooden door on a main street with a small plaque and a phone number to ring, to be fair a gentleman arrived within 5-10 minutes and we were sorted.

  Liked: It was good but there was no internet in our room. Wife very unhappy! Free water and snacks, clean.

  Disliked: No internet in room, so my wife spent alot of time in the break room and hall outside our room.

  Liked: Exceptionally clean and beautiful accomodation with a large comfy bed. It is located very central close to the famous clock tower and many great restaurants and cafes.

  It was an okay stay. Just felt impersonal

  Liked: The bed and location were good.

  Disliked: There was a strong smell of sewage in the room, not just in the bathroom. The Bathroom fan was super noisy. It said breakfast was included in our stay but there was nothing provided in the reception area even after the owner had said he would refill and put some things out. Checkout was Sunday morning. He did say keep the city tax payment to spend on breakfast but the bar for coffee next door was closed on Sunday. We were just disappointed in little effort to do as he said he would do
