  Spacious but fairly basic

  Liked: We booked both rooms, one twin and one double, and were pleased with how spacious they were, along with the large hallway. There were two entrances to the building, and we were met by a member of staff on arrival. The shared bathroom was fairly standard, and towels were provided. One thing we found unusual was that, despite having a separate space, there was no kitchen or kitchenette. A kettle was provided, but there were no cups or complimentary tea and coffee, which would have been a nice addition. Overall, the rooms offered plenty of space, although a few extra amenities would have made the stay more comfortable.

  Lovely Space but Needs that Special Touch

  Liked: The room was lovely with a very high ceiling painted with gold muses. There was a crystal chandelier. We enjoyed a little balcony with table and chairs. The bathroom was large, modern with double sinks and large shower with rainfall and handheld shower heads. There was a safe, small refrigerator with water, and an electric kettle. The location was super. We could walk to everything we needed- the train station, the main square, old town, shops restaurants and lots of sights. The host was very communicative and greeted us promptly.

  Disliked: I must begin with the fact that we are older, seasoned travellers. This was our first "guesthouse" stay in Europe, and there was a lot of value by staying here. With a bit of TLC this would be an awesome property and would bring up the value to the family who owns and manages this property as well as others in the vicinity. Upon entering the building the vibe was "frat house" with an old chair, a desk and clutter. It was not very welcoming, and we were concerned. There were two entrances- one with stairs and the other with an elevator. There was a courtyard, but it was a mess. The hallways were ante rooms that could have been lovely, but had clutter in them instead of decor. Our large, lovely room was stark even with the pretty ceiling and chandelier. There was a lot of chipped paint on some cabinetry, woodwork and doors to closets (although the windows were modern and new.) There was not enough furniture- a nice poster bed, night tables, a modern credenza, antique etagere and 2 wooden chairs, but lots of open space where a sofa or upholstered chair and cocktail table would have been perfect. The bathroom amenities were very minimal. Although there was a kettle, we had to buy coffee, sugar, cream, etc... The maid service was happenstance. We saw her in the hall once and she was very kind to give us clean towels and more soap and tp. However, the only "service" was that we noticed the trash was taken out. We are tidy and straightened up on our own, but this was not typical housekeeping. My comments are not to complain, but to offer a guest perspective and suggestions that might enhance the potential of this place.

  An incredible place

  Liked: Great, huge room and huge bathroom. Very good location, 10 minutes from the station and 5 minutes to the old town. Check-in and check-out were without any problems, and the host was very nice. Everything is clean and modern. If I return to Monopoli, it will definitely be here.

  Liked: Nice Appartement situated in the Center of the city with a nice cafe and restaurants/bars nearby. Communication was great.

  Disliked: As mentioned by other guests there is some noise due to close by streets and bars but we enjoyed the central location.
