  Good location and some good points, but improvements are definitely needed

  Liked: Jazz Hotel is one of three "co-resident" hotels in one apartment-like building, occupying a couple of floors. The room itself was touted as accessibility-friendly. Although reasonably good, it has plenty of room for improvement in that regard. Otherwise, our room was a nice, quiet little space with a small Juliet balcony looking out over the characteristic Neapolitan streets and buildings. The one staff person was helpful getting us checked in. The location is about 300 meters walk from Napoli Centrale, and is surrounded by assorted restaurants, trattoria, cafes, etc. Piazza San Francesco Di Paola has some good trattoria if you prefer a buzzy nightlife. The hotel is also adjacent to the African section of Napoli, so there is much African influence nearby. The tram line runs close by as well.

  Disliked: For wheelchair or accessibility clients, this hotel may pose some challenges. These are warnings, not actual "dislikes". First, the usual client entrance is through a small Judas door in a larger steel gate for cars. The advertised street-facing front door is not this entrance. The little door is narrow and has a high lip, which is a big hassle for wheelchair clients. And the bigger gate is locked so it cannot be used by clients. To add to the fun, the driveway outside is slippery, rutted Neapolitan cobbles, not good for people on crutches trying to land on a stable surface. Second, the interior lift is tiny, barely larger than a small wheelchair (apparently it can hold only 6 passengers). So this adds logistical problems to getting wheelchair clients plus pushers plus any baggage upstairs. Plan for multiple trips up and down when checking in and out. Third, the room dimensions mean the foot end of the bed is barely 30cm from the wall which has the TV mounted on it. So to get to the other side of the bed or room, anyone on crutches has to slide sideways while ducking under the TV. This is difficult even for able-bodied people. Perhaps a rethink of the room layout might help? Fourth, in the "accessible" bathroom, the shower is barely a trickle which is disappointing in itself. There are no curtains around the shower to prevent what water that does come through from splashing everything in the room. For example, the toilet paper holder is mounted next to the shower, and is the first thing to get soaked. The tiles are slippery when wet. Finally, the taps and fittings are old, loose, and in urgent need of repair. This accessible bathroom is poorly planned and poorly maintained. We would love to see it properly upgraded.

  Liked: Good central location.

  Disliked: Late check in - link wasn’t send so we were waiting outside late at night waiting for a WhatsApp reply to give us the instructions on how to get in. Really unorganised.

  Unpretentious comfort, suitable for a city break

  Liked: Friendly staff, convenient location near the main railway station, good wifi, air conditioning, breakfast (coffee&croissant) at a nearby coffee shop.

  Disliked: The room door locking system does not work properly, the bathroom needs some attention (slow sink drain, toilet tank leaks water)

  Liked: Unfortunately, my experience was not the best. I arrived after 9 PM for check-in and was not informed that the doors would be closed. I had to wait outside for quite a while before receiving a response. When I was finally given a room number and access code, I opened the door and found another guest already inside. After contacting the staff again, I was assigned a different room, but that door was already open when I arrived. For me, security is very important, and these incidents left me with concerns about how guest access is managed. Perhaps I was simply unlucky, but it was not a good first impression. That said, if you only need a place to sleep for one night, it may be sufficient.

  Liked: I am a wheelchair user, and I must formally raise a serious complaint regarding my stay. The property was not accessible, despite being advertised as suitable for guests. The entrance was not wheelchair accessible, and the ramp was blocked by the owner, effectively preventing safe entry and exit. This is a clear failure to ensure basic accessibility standards. After check-in, there was no staff present at the accommodation for two consecutive days. During this time, I and several other guests were locked out of the property. I was given a key to a large metal gate for vehicle access, but due to my physical condition, I was unable to operate it safely. When I contacted the owner to request assistance, I was told to “solve it myself” and that the situation was not their responsibility. No support or reasonable accommodation was offered. This behavior is unacceptable, discriminatory, and shows a complete disregard for the needs of a disabled guest. Due to these unsafe and inaccessible conditions, and the total lack of assistance, I had no choice but to terminate my stay early. I was forced to purchase a new flight ticket and return home at my own expense. I consider this a serious breach of duty of care and a violation of accessibility and consumer protection principles. I request: a full refund of my stay, reimbursement of my additional travel costs, and a formal investigation into this property. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will consider escalating the complaint to the relevant consumer protection and disability rights authorities.
