Exceptional
A total success - any problems were our own. We loved Padua
Liked: This was a splendid old family apartment in a delightful, characterful old palazzo, maintained as it had been lived in by the family, some of whom still live in the building. It was immensely spacious, full of interesting furniture and books, with a well equipped kitchen. The owner (and his mother on one occasion) were very friendly and helpful. The location, in an old, rather lively and interesting street very close to the centre, was perfect (there's some street noise from below especially at the weekend, but I didn't mind this, since it gave the locality a feeling of life).
Unique, memorable, great host!
Liked: The host, Fillippo, helped us with the check-in process then drove us to the airport himself to avoid early morning taxi mix-ups. It was great to hear about the background to this unique family property!
Liked: The apartment is very spacious and offers great value for the amount of space you get. The host is extremely responsive, friendly, and cordial, and provided very clear and easy-to-follow check-in instructions. I also liked the idea of giving guests a sense of how the host family lives, which gives the apartment a lot of character and makes the stay feel more personal. That said, a few updates would make the experience even better. The air conditioning could use an upgrade, and the apartment could benefit from being aired out a bit before guests arrive. Some of the appliances could also be modernized, and the bathroom feels a little dated. For example, the hair dryer seemed like it was from the 1970s. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with a very welcoming host and great value for the amount of space you get.
Liked: It really feels to the name.
An unforgettable stay in a beautifully preserved piece of Italian history
Liked: This was less a place to stay and more an experience—though it is also excellent accommodation. Filippo was a wonderful host: friendly, easy to communicate with, and always helpful. The apartment is one I will never forget. Stepping inside felt like entering a time capsule, an old Italianate home that seems largely unchanged for generations. It gave us a rare opportunity to experience a more traditional Italian way of life and to appreciate the character and history of the building itself. The apartment is enormous, with magnificent 4–5 metre painted ceilings, exposed wooden beams, grand fireplaces, and beautiful original dark wood furniture throughout. Every room is full of atmosphere and authentic period detail. If you’re looking for a modern, minimalist space, this may not be for you—but if you appreciate history, character, and a genuine sense of place, this apartment is truly special.
Disliked: Nothing - it was wonderful
For real authentic Italian home…the finest
Liked: Beautiful,period property,1800 feel.
