Liked: Palau is the perfect base location for a 4-5 night stay and the hotel is right in the center, overlooking the marina. We want to give a huge shoutout to the staff, everyone involved made us feel welcome and they were eager to please.

Liked: The accommodation was very good, and the staff were generally friendly and welcoming. The lady at reception deserves special mention for being exceptionally kind, helpful and accommodating.
Disliked: The breakfast experience was so unpleasant that I cannot give this place five stars. Breakfast is officially served from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. We arrived at 9:30, which I believe is a perfectly reasonable time, considering the advertised schedule. However, from the moment we arrived, the breakfast staff behaved as though they were dealing with some sort of emergency. They started clearing everything away, rushing around, banging dishes and cutlery, and creating an incredibly unpleasant atmosphere. For the last half hour of breakfast, the only music we heard was the sound of plates, bowls and cutlery being practically thrown around. And I'm not exaggerating — some items seemed to be dropped from half a metre above the counter! At exactly 10:00, everything was removed from the buffet, curtains were pulled around the serving area, and the noisy cleanup continued. At 10:15, we were told to leave. Fair enough — we understand that breakfast had officially ended 15 minutes earlier. But surely, guests who arrive within the advertised breakfast hours deserve to finish their meal in peace, without feeling like unwanted intruders. In more than 20 years of travelling throughout Europe, I have never experienced such an aggressive and unnecessarily theatrical end to breakfast service. A simple, polite approach would have made all the difference. Instead, we were treated to what can only be described as a spectacular demonstration of how to make guests feel unwelcome. Four stars for the accommodation and the otherwise pleasant staff, especially the wonderful lady at reception. The breakfast team, however, could seriously benefit from a lesson in hospitality.
