Fabulous
Shame on the host, never ever we are going to stay with private host!
Liked: Host didn't show up at start, didn't show up when we left prematurely, was arrogant, apartment was cleaned at 10:30 pm, we had to wait from 5:30 to 7 pm after neighbors gave us code and keys, only after we threatened to call police, we left next day and we claim money back for unspent days. Host communicated arrogantly via SMS!

Okay flat, although we experienced some issues with receiving the deposit
Liked: Nice apartment in a peaceful neighborhood, with decent facilities and a well-equipped kitchen. We visited in November, so the flat was a bit cold.
Disliked: The host was responsive, although we received the deposit back after 9 days and only after sending out reminders. Additionally, body soap and shampoo were not provided in the house.
Liked: Really nice apartment close to the center.
Disliked: Missing mosquito nets even though Ravenna is a warm and humid place full with mosquitos.
Good value for money
Liked: In a quiet street with plenty of free on street parking, the upstairs flat overlooks a quiet courtyard/private garden. It is very spacious for a couple or even three people. The flat was fairly cool though we did use the aircon a little. For us it was a ten to fifteen minute pleasant walk into the centre of Ravenna with buildings of interest along the way. Ravenna was a planned stop-over for us for 3 nights/two full days and there was plenty to see in that time, it is famous for its mosaics. Thank goodness there were not the hordes of tour groups that there had been in Florence!!! Everything was in walking distance and so the car stayed put which was great. It always felt safe walking back late at night.
Disliked: We had to ask where the entry key box was and what the code was. This information should have been provided before our arrival. Odd things, like no information - at all - regarding Ravenna or local shops/restaurants. We had to contact the owner for the wifi info and were told to look behind the router - not something I would normally do in someone elses property. The password was ridiculous but we eventually logged in using the QR code on the back of the router. There was no information on how to operate the spa shower. We could have tried things out, but life is too short. One of the cinema speakers is in just the right position to get knocked over. Three light bulbs in the lounge were not working, that made it a little dim in the evening. Lastly, it took over two weeks for our deposit (half the cost of the stay!) to be refunded. Don't get us wrong, it was still a good place to stay - but it could be excellent.
