  Comfortable and convenient

  Liked: We travelled as a group of 5 friends and we all enjoyed our stay at Sole Mare. The location was great, being on a quiet side street, yet only a few minutes walk to the railway station and bus stops where you can get regular buses into Taormina and along the coast. It was also only a short distance down to the promenade where there are a few shops, bars and restaurants. We thought it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of Taormina town centre. However getting to the station or promenade does involve walking on a busy main road, where there is no footpath, so you have to be careful. The rooms are situated on 4 floors so be prepared for some walking up and down stairs, as there is no lift. Our room was on the top floor and was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the air-con worked well. Breakfast was a continental style cold buffet, with a good choice of cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread, jam, cheese, ham, egg etc. Iwona the owner was very friendly and helpful, and kindly transported our luggage to the railway station when we were leaving.

  Disliked: The room was lacking a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, which would have been appreciated.

  Great stay. Great host

  Liked: Great host and staff. Very helpful. Telli with Netflix and utube. Very clean. Bed made every day.

  Disliked: It was at a quiet end of the resort, and my husband couldn't walk the distance to the busier end. Very difficult to walk on the beach, the stones sink, and it's difficult to walk into the sea. Rubberised beach shoes are a must.
