Fabulous
A good stay in a nice building
Liked: A charming and comfortable place to stay. A short walk to the sea. Clean and safe with lots of character.
Disliked: The method of asking to have your room cleaned via WhatsApp might not be suitable for everyone. My 85yo father stayed here for a week, and each morning they would ask him via a WhatsApp message if he wanted his room cleaned and towels changed, and I think each morning he missed the message. He did ask reception for a clean, but it was again asked via WhatsApp, which he missed, so again he didn't get his room cleaned.

Feels like home
Liked: Esphino Vintage: a place that feels like home. Excellent communication both before and during our stay. We were even allowed to use the room earlier than planned – a very thoughtful touch. The place itself exudes charm thanks to the building and the décor; it’s beautiful. It’s not perfectly pristine or ultra-sleek in places, but that’s precisely what I found so charming about this place. Truly vintage! Esphino isn’t the most beautiful city, but it felt cosy, pleasant and safe, and had all the amenities you could need. The city’s grid layout makes it very easy to find your way around. Just south of Porto. Tip: every year there’s a huge medieval festival in Santa Maria da Feira: don’t miss it! It was amazing... https://www.viagemmedieval.com/ There’s a fridge where you can store your things, as well as some plates you’re welcome to use, alongside coffee and tea. All the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming, with a warm heart. There are two pianos on site, one of which sounds the least out of tune ☺️. On the day we left, a spontaneous living-room concert broke out with guests and a member of the hotel staff. Now that’s what I call connecting with your guests. An unforgettable and heart-warming experience. I miss it already 🙏
Disliked: If the piano gets tuned, there might well be even more impromptu concerts 😬
