  A Timeless Stay with Warm, Genuine Hospitality

  Liked: Hotel Inglaterra is a place I have returned to every time I go to Estoril for work. classic character. It has elegant interiors, with traditional furnishings, refined details, and a sense of old-world charm, yet we can find unique and even whimsical touches here and there. All of this creates an atmosphere that feels both charming and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed, they offered plenty of room to relax and everything was spotless and thoughtfully maintained. What truly set the stay apart, though, was the staff. Every team member we met was friendly, attentive and genuinely eager to help. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and the personal touch made us feel like valued guests rather than just another booking.

  Disappointing & dirty

  Liked: The location was really good to get from the train station, beach and shops

  Disliked: I will share what I shared with the hotel directly - I understand that the building is old, but the bathroom was probably the main issue for us in room 409. It was dirty on arrival with hair in the shower and sink. The sink plughole was rusty, showerhead was broken and old (and very cheap) and the shower curtain was ripped. The flush on the toilet was unreliable, and each towel, every day, was stained, ripped and basically threadbare. The room itself was also dirty, the floors, headboard and windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned all summer. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The mattresses under the sheets were so stained and yellow, I’ve not seen anything like it. We must’ve been on an empty floor until Friday evening, because then we realised how paper thin the walls to the room are. We could here conversations, people blowing their noses, running water, walking around, everything. The only other service at the hotel we used was the pool, which was also in desperate need of some attention, with most tiles chipped and sharp, the pool steps were barely attached and the sun loungers tired and old. The manager has since shared that the pool should be renovated this winter.

  A beautiful hotel with a great location, but the service was disappointing

  Liked: At the breakfast room I was very happy with the availability of lactose free milk and yogurt. I was satisfied with the selection of granola and other cerials. The bread was fresh and delicous. Our room was large, with plenty of storage space, the shower was great and nice large robes were supplied. The location, close to the metro station and the beach walk, was perfect.

  Disliked: Again, starting with the breakfast room, a menu was given out, but no one came to ask if we wanted to order something. We had to hunt for a server and request what we wanted, but this was not clear to begin with. The cakes and pastries were not fresh or tastey. Upon our arrival we met the concierge who informed us that we had free water provided on our first day and free pastries on our second day. This was not something we asked for, but when the pastries never showed up, we found that strange. In addition, in every other hotel in Portugal, over the course of 3 weeks, we were given full bottles of water in our rooms each day. In this hotel, our most expensive, no. In our bathroom the bottle that was labeled body lotion contained bath soap and the second bottle contained soap as well. When I asked to have this situation corrected I was assured it would be. I also asked for additional shower caps. The shower caps showed up each day, but the body lotion - not. To reach our room you had to walk through the bar and dining area, which was not always a comfortable feeling when the place was full. In short, though the staff was always friendly, the service was not high level or consistent.

  Beautiful, welcoming and delicious food

  Liked: Excellent hotel, beautiful rooms and the most welcoming staff. The breakfast was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home during our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel, a short distance from Cascais by walk or train, we'd definitely return!

  Disliked: It would be great to have some water glasses in the room so that we can have a drink in the evening as I forgot my water bottle.
