  Terrible, instant regret - Worst place I have stayed at through Booking.com and the worst hosts in Europe in my experien

  Disliked: Deceptive advertising. I am disappointed in Booking.com for letting low quality listing like this get ranked high. Their descriptions are pretty much false all round. First of all they do NOT have parking. It is only a tiny strip in front of the building that can't take more than 2 cars at once. You can't even make a U-turn without scratching your car. See pics for the advertised "parking space" it's so funny I burst out laughing when I arrived. Day 1 - There was a disgusting ball of hair in the toilet. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything the other guests are up to from inside your own room. I mean EVERYTHING, so say goodbye to your privacy for as long as you stay here. Day 2 - speaking of privacy, was rudely woken by two people banging the door and trying to peer through my windows on the ground floor because they thought there would be staff at reception and were banging on the doors because, presumably, the remote staff would not pick up the phone at 10AM in the morning. Keep in mind the window blinds cannot be opened so abandon all hopes of fresh air. Day 3 - Rudely awoken again, this time by a neighbor blaring the horn of her mercedes for whatever reason. This went on for nearly 20 minutes intermittently, punctuated by loud cursing in Portuguese. Very unpleasant and was unable to go back to sleep after that. You will not get even a good night's rest here. No exaggeration: I hated every minute of my stay here and that's a word I rarely use. I felt cheated out of my money. Don't be deceived by the pictures or the way they cleverly try to paint this as a "guest house" - you might as well be staying in a cheap hostel. PS: There's a reason they don't allow refunds, because once you realize you have paid and want to change your mind they start to sing a different tune. "Reservations department" suddenly closes for the day and you get the run around.

  Overall good stay with comfortable beds

  Liked: Beds were extremely comfortable. Shower pressure was amazing. Very clean. Great location if you have hired car

  Disliked: Could hear everything. No privacy glass/blinds other than the shutters, which could only be done from outside. No fridge, kettle or toaster. No clean towels during stay.

  If you are a super clean freak and a light sleeper this place is definetly not for you

  Liked: Bed was clean.

  Disliked: The room was not cleaned properly, as there was still dust and debris on the floor. There was also visible mold in the showers, which was disappointing. Additionally, the walls are extremely thin, and you can hear virtually everything happening in neighboring rooms, making it difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep.

Please note that there is no reception or staff at the accommodations. Cleaning is only provided for stays longer than 1 week and there is an additional charge for extra cleaning. The Viriginia Guest House is not a hotel, it is just a guest house that provides stay services, where no additional services are included.

Please note that when booking accommodations with a shared bathroom, you will be sharing the bathroom with other guests in other rooms and you must wear slippers when using the shower.

the Virginia Guest House, has a small pantry, where it is expressly forbidden to make/cook any type of food. The place only serves to use microwaves for pre-cooked foods that need heating as well as liquids, such as teas, coffees, juices and a fridge to store foods that need to be cold.
