  Friendly Staff, Newer Rooms and Great Location!

  Liked: Paula at the front desk was excellent. She was pleasant and quick to answer all my questions about the hotel and restaurant suggestions nearby. The rooms are newer. Bathrooms were small - just for one person but that was common in all the hotels I stayed at in Madeira. This hotel has great location. I loved that the beach was just a block away and there were stores and restaurants close by.

  Disliked: There was a curly hair on my vanity - it was clean but that was not a great impression. The bed was comfortable but there were no pillow selections - just two that were the same - big and thick where I like a thinner more squishy type. I had to make a pillow out of my packing cube so my neck would not hurt. There was also a slight sewer smell in the bathroom. No A/C, but luckily it cools down at night. However, if you really like it cold at night, you may want a hotel with A/C. All the hotels along the beach are under the flight path for departing flights, so when sliders are open to help get air circulating in the room, you do hear the jets, but thankfully they are not departing in middle of the night.

  Excellent location

  Liked: Very good location close to sea front and old town. Nice breakfast.

  Disliked: There was no aircon although it was possible to ask for a fan. The bathroom was very nice and looked fairly new but it was small.
