  Good apartment with smelly stairwell to enter

  Very nice place close to the centre of town

  Liked: The location was good, close to the restaurants and cafes to get morning coffee and pastries. The apartment was very large and clean.

  Liked: We stayed in Peniche for 2 nights. The listing did not specify the floor, so we accidentally booked a ground-floor apartment facing a concrete courtyard. The host kindly moved us to the second floor.

  Disliked: However, the new apartment had a serious issue: the hot water boiler was leaking heavily (about 2 liters every 40 minutes). We had to wake up during the night to empty a bowl to prevent flooding, and we were not warned about this in advance. The next day we decided not to continue our stay and asked for a refund for the unused night, but were refused, as the host claimed the leak was “minor.” Other issues included windows in the kitchen that would not close, making it unsafe, lack of basic kitchen items, and a bathroom with dampness, mold, and standing water. Overall, despite the host being polite, the condition of the apartment and handling of the issue were very disappointing.

  Great apartment but what a hassle to get in

  Liked: Great large apartment that has everything needed and parking is easy

  Disliked: Owner is not responsive. Check in process too difficult given absentee owner. I mirror other comments that had similar issues gaining access to the apartment.

  Frustrating

  Liked: Location, size of the Apt, and how well equipped it was. Very comfortable, clean place to stay at an affordable cost

  Disliked: No communication in telling me how to get in. I called and the gentleman did not speak English well and kept saying the name of some cafe. It took more calls to clarify and to tell him that the cafe was not coming up on Google maps. It was VERY frustrating. I tried to tell him that there was no cafe by that name. He didn't understand why I said that there wasn't. I didn't know what to do. Finally I went back to the Apt and noticed the cafe while walking there. TG I walked on the correct street. I don't know why it didn't show on any map app, but that is Not a way to run a business. It took me over an hour to get in after arriving. If you are going to have a Vaca apt, one should be able to converse in English And have a better way of getting keys to the renters than leaving them with a cafe worker.
