  Quiet, comfortable, and a great base for exploring São Miguel by car

  Liked: Christina, the manager, was absolutely lovely and very responsive. When I had a Wi-Fi issue, she had a technician out right away. As an American unfamiliar with the European washer/dryer models, I also appreciated her showing me the hidden lint filters and how to empty the water. The laundry area is on the second floor, was clean and well equipped, and the daily cleaning lady was very nice. The house was surprisingly quiet and well insulated from other guests. My room was comfortable with great AC, and the backyard had lovely views—I even saw bunnies and other animals. Although it’s in more of an industrial area, the hedges give the property plenty of privacy. It was a great value and a convenient base for exploring São Miguel by car, with easy highway access and a grocery store nearby. Anything I needed, Christina handled quickly. I’d happily stay again, especially for exploring the island by car or if traveling with family and wanting more space.

  Disliked: You’ll definitely want a car here. It’s convenient for driving around the island, but not ideal if you want to walk to the beach, restaurants, or attractions. FYI, Google Maps/GPS may take you to #74 when you first arrive—the property is #100, farther down the road. It’s near the highway, and my room faced that direction, so I preferred keeping the window and shutters closed at night to reduce the distant traffic noise. With the AC, this was comfortable. The kitchen doesn’t have AC or a screen door, so it can get warm when cooking at night. The front door lock is also a little tricky: pulling the door toward you and wiggling the key right, then left, worked for me. Overall, these were minor issues and didn’t detract much from my stay.

  It’s a great place which we enjoyed for a week and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to stay away from the noise

  Liked: This house has eight separate rooms with a shared kitchen and a beautiful backyard. The kitchen is fully equipped in case you want to make some meals at home. Our bedroom was very comfortable. The towels in the bathroom were soft and the bedding was soft and cozy. The whole place is very clean and we enjoyed some downtime in the backyard.

  Disliked: The property is located next to an office which has an employee shift change around 7 AM. This creates a bit of noise as people chat and our window was right above them. Also the road is busy which also gets a bit noisy.

  Super nice hotel when staying at Sao Miguel!

  Liked: Super nice and central location on the island.

  Disliked: Sometimes the smell from the surrounding industry and cows was a bit much + it attracted some flies when sitting outside.

  Great! Probably will not stay here again for the noise issues. But nothing else wrong

  Liked: The host was wonderful, responsive. The place felt safe, as there’s a garage to protect the home. Laundry came to handy!! It was wonderful.

  Disliked: The place is loud and I had to sleep with headphones. I would have appreciated some guidance as to what to do or resources available in a binder or some sort of welcome guide.
